‘Orange Is the New Black’ Star Ruby Rose Says She Reported Noel Clarke Years Ago, and Claims No One Listene

Ruby Rose has spoken out about Noel Clarke after the British actor was formally charged with six sexual offenses, saying she reported concerns about him years ago and felt that nobody took action.

Clarke is now facing two counts of sexual assault, three counts of voyeurism, and one count of exposure, according to London’s Metropolitan Police. The alleged offenses involve five women and are said to have taken place between 2007 and 2016. Clarke denies the allegations.

Rose, who starred alongside Clarke in the 2021 action thriller ‘SAS: Rise of the Black Swan,’ reacted to the news in a post on Threads. Her comments suggest she had raised concerns about Clarke long before the current criminal case reached the courts.

“Noel Clarke has been charged,” Rose wrote, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She then claimed that Clarke had “preyed on a woman who worked on our SAS film” and said, “I reported him. No one cared. I was told not to get involved. Nobody followed up.”

Rose ended the post by saying, “So many came forward, finally some justice.”

She did not share more details about the woman or explain exactly what happened when she made her report. Still, her statement has drawn attention because it comes years after serious allegations against Clarke first became public.

The controversy surrounding Clarke began in 2021, when The Guardian published an investigation featuring accounts from more than 20 women. They accused Clarke of behavior including groping, inappropriate sexual conduct and bullying. Some of the allegations were connected to his work in television and film, including his time on ‘Doctor Who.’

Clarke denied the allegations and later took legal action against The Guardian. In August 2025, he lost his libel case against the newspaper.

The latest criminal case is separate from that earlier civil court battle. The Metropolitan Police said its investigation began in September 2025. The Crown Prosecution Service later reviewed the evidence and authorized the charges involving five women.

Clarke is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on October 21. At this stage, the allegations remain allegations, and the court process will determine what happens next.

The accusations had already caused major damage to Clarke’s career years before the criminal charges were announced. Sky canceled ‘Bulletproof,’ the crime drama Clarke starred in and helped create, while BAFTA suspended him and revoked his honorary award for his contribution to British cinema.

Rose’s own connection to Clarke came through ‘SAS: Rise of the Black Swan,’ where she played Grace Lewis and Clarke appeared as Major Bisset. The movie also featured Andy Serkis, Tom Hopper, Hannah John-Kamen and Sam Heughan.

What makes Rose’s comments stand out is her claim that she tried to raise the issue privately before Clarke was charged. Her account points to a question that has followed the wider story for years: what happens when people report troubling behavior inside an industry, but feel their concerns are ignored?

The Metropolitan Police has said the women involved in the current case are receiving support from specially trained officers. Detective Superintendent Mike Cagney also encouraged anyone who has experienced sexual assault to contact police, saying reports would be handled by trained investigators.

For Rose, speaking now appears to be about making sure her earlier warning is part of the public record. Her statement does not decide the criminal case, but it adds another account to a story that has been unfolding for years.

Clarke will now have to face the charges in court, while Rose’s comments have opened a new conversation about what she says happened behind the scenes when she first reported her concerns.
