‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 3 First Look, Cast and Release Date Revealed for Netflix’s Next Chapter

Nobody Wants This is about to enter a very different stage of Joanne and Noah’s relationship. After two seasons filled with romance, family drama, awkward moments, and plenty of doubts, the Netflix hit is finally moving past the big question of whether these two should be together. Now, they have to figure out how to actually build a life together.

Netflix has confirmed that Season 3 will premiere on Thursday, October 22. The streaming service also released the first official photos from the new episodes, giving fans an early look at what is coming. Joanne and Noah can be seen surrounded by moving boxes, which seems to confirm that their relationship is about to take a much bigger step.

The new season comes after an emotional ending to Season 2. Joanne and Noah finally decided to choose each other after spending much of the series dealing with doubts and pressure from the people around them. Their relationship has never been simple, especially with Joanne being agnostic and Noah being a rabbi, but they have continued to find their way back to each other.

Now, Season 3 is asking a different question. What happens when the couple finally gets what they wanted?

According to Netflix’s official synopsis, Joanne and Noah are moving into a new home and starting a more settled part of their relationship. They will experience all the usual firsts that come with building a life together, but that does not mean everything will suddenly be easy. The show is expected to explore the everyday problems that come after the big romantic decision has already been made.

The same idea will also play out with some of the other characters. Sasha and Esther are pushed back into the dating world, while Morgan takes a major step forward with her career. So, even though Joanne and Noah remain at the center of the story, Season 3 will give the supporting characters plenty of room to deal with their own changes.

Co-showrunner Jenni Konner told VitalThrills that the new season feels like “champagne.” Creator Erin Foster shared a similar idea, explaining that the writers used a simple question when deciding which stories belonged in the new episodes. If an idea did not feel like champagne, they moved on from it.

Kristen Bell and Adam Brody are returning as Joanne and Noah, so fans will once again get to see the pair at the heart of the show. Justine Lupe is back as Morgan, while Timothy Simons returns as Sasha and Jackie Tohn is back as Esther. Several other familiar faces are also expected to return.

Season 3 is also adding some interesting new names. Andrew Rannells and Keyla Monterroso Mejia will appear as Sebastien and Amber, two of Joanne’s classmates as she continues her journey through Judaism. Sarah Silverman is joining the cast as Rabbi Eden, their teacher. Avan Jogia, Poorna Jagannathan, Sadie Sandler, Stephanie Koenig, and Steven Weber are also joining the new season in guest roles.

The changes behind the scenes are just as interesting. Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan are returning as showrunners and executive producers, working alongside Erin Foster, Kristen Bell, Sara Foster, Nora Silver, Steven Levitan, Danielle Stokdyk, and Jeff Morton.

What makes Season 3 especially interesting is the decision to move away from the usual romantic comedy formula. Most shows build toward the couple finally getting together and then stop the story there. Nobody Wants This is doing the opposite. Joanne and Noah have already made their choice, and now the series gets to explore what happens next.

That could give the show a lot of new material. Living together, dealing with family, balancing work, and figuring out their future can create just as much drama as their original romance. Morgan, Sasha, and Esther are also entering their own new stages, giving the season several different stories about what comes after a major life change.

With Netflix confirming the October 22 premiere and the first-look photos already showing Joanne and Noah preparing for a new home, Season 3 looks ready to take the series in a fresh direction. The romance is still at the center of everything, but this time, Joanne and Noah are not trying to find their way to each other. They are trying to figure out how to stay together.
