Cohan has echoed similar sentiments about where things could go next, telling People that the creative team has plenty of unconventional ideas for another season, adding that if those ideas can still surprise her and Morgan after all this time working on the franchise, they’ll almost certainly surprise fans too. She’s also pointed out that the broader ‘Walking Dead’ universe still feels far from exhausted, even more than a decade into its run.
Season three’s momentum appears to support that confidence. The current season holds a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, a strong signal that critics have responded well to the show’s latest direction, even though the final call on renewal still rests with AMC once the season wraps.
