Filming had taken place largely at Pinewood Studios over roughly six months, making the London debut feel like a genuine homecoming for a production so deeply rooted in British soil.

Directed by Iñárritu, ‘Digger’ stars Cruise in the title role as Digger Rockwell, a wealthy oil tycoon whose story unfolds alongside a cast that includes Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Jesse Plemons. Hüller plays Emma Rockwell, Digger’s half-sister, while D’Arcy takes on the role of a character named Lina.

The film’s premise follows Digger as he races to prove himself humanity’s savior in the aftermath of a disaster he himself set in motion, a description that hints at the kind of morally complicated territory Iñárritu has built his career exploring.
