‘Outer Banks’ Star Madelyn Cline Leaves Little to the Imagination in a Sheer Paisley Etro Dress at Milan Fashion Week

Madelyn Cline has spent the past few days turning Milan Fashion Week into her own personal style showcase. The ‘Outer Banks’ star arrived in Italy on the very first day of the Spring/Summer 2027 shows and quickly became a fixture on the city’s street style circuit, stepping out in an oversized white button-down with black lug-sole boots before switching to Adidas Samba Janes, a paisley bandana, and a red Chanel bag.

The trip seems like a dream come true for the 28-year-old. Back in June, she admitted she had been campaigning for a return to the country. “I’m really trying to plan a Europe vacation at some point. I want to go to Italy,” Cline told Brit + Co at the time. She has certainly gotten her wish, making her runway debut of the week at the fifth edition of Vogue World: Milano in a plunging floral Etro gown from the brand’s Pre-Fall 2026 collection, layered with a long navy velvet jacket.

Now Cline has shared another memorable moment. New photos posted by Cinethology on X show the actress bathed in warm, low sunlight beside a tall window, wearing a sheer patterned dress with her hair pulled into a loose topknot.

The dress is the same look she wore as a front-row guest at Etro’s Spring/Summer 2027 show on September 23. According to theFashionSpot, the sleeveless midi comes from Etro’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection and features olive, mustard, and burgundy tones printed across a see-through base, a draped funnel neckline, and a dense black feather trim at the hem.

The images caught fans’ attention quickly, gathering 3,324 views, 190 likes, and 33 bookmarks shortly after going live. It’s easy to see why, as the translucent fabric and feathered fringe look especially striking in the soft glow of the light.

Cline’s styling showed a clever bit of continuity. Marie Claire noted that she spent the day before the evening show wearing a paisley-print bandana with her Samba Janes, and ComicBasics pointed out that the print unexpectedly echoed the Etro dress she would change into later.

The heritage print gave the sheer look a classic feel, while the feathers added weight and movement to the hem. The combination made the outfit feel modern rather than costume-like, which has become a hallmark of Cline’s recent fashion choices.

This isn’t a one-off moment for the actress. She wore a barely-there chiffon gown by Siedres to the premiere of the fifth and final season of ‘Outer Banks’, and she stepped out in a polka-dot mesh Stella McCartney set for a New York press appearance in August.

Her daring streak also extends to photoshoots. A sheer “naked dress” she wore for a Cosmopolitan shoot in summer 2025, taken to promote her Prime Video romance ‘The Map That Leads to You’ with KJ Apa, recently resurfaced online and reminded fans of her bold approach to style.

The fashion run comes at a turning point in her career. ‘Outer Banks’, the Netflix teen drama that made her a star as Sarah Cameron, ran from 2020 to 2026, and fashion week has become a natural stage for her post-‘Outer Banks’ chapter.

Born in Goose Creek, South Carolina, Cline has also built an impressive film résumé with Rian Johnson’s ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’ and the 2025 slasher ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’. She is also set to appear in ‘Day Drinker’ alongside Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz, giving her plenty to look forward to once her Italian adventure wraps.
