Few Hollywood stars have been as outspoken about growing older as Halle Berry. The Oscar winner has spent the last few years turning her views on aging into a genuine mission, pushing back against an industry that often treats women past a certain age as invisible.

Berry celebrated her 60th birthday on August 14, marking the milestone with fiancé Van Hunt during a getaway in Los Cabos. Earlier this year, she told The Cut that she refuses to let herself be erased as she gets older, insisting she would only get louder instead.

Now, Berry has shared an even more personal reflection. During Create & Cultivate’s On Her Own Terms event in Los Angeles on September 20, a panel focused on menopause, aging, and women’s health, the actress was asked during a rapid-fire round what she is currently embracing.

Her answer was her new face and body. Berry admitted that she notices something new in the mirror almost every day, but said she is proud that she can learn to accept those changes rather than transforming herself with every procedure available today. The ‘Crime 101’ star explained that she sees aging as a natural part of life. She added that she knows she is more than the body and face she walks around in.

This isn’t a new philosophy for Berry, but rather one she has refined over time. “I’ve always known that I’ve been more than this face and more than this body,” she told Marie Claire back in 2024, suggesting that when her looks change, people might finally focus on the parts of her she finds far more interesting.

In that same conversation, Berry described the attention her beauty has brought her as something of a hollow win, since she had nothing to do with how she was born looking. She also noted that women tend to be defined by their age far more than men.

Berry’s advocacy has deep personal roots. Her perimenopause symptoms were once misdiagnosed as herpes, an experience that showed her how little awareness both doctors and patients had about this universal life stage.

At the Los Angeles panel, she reflected on how nobody ever warned her that, regardless of appearance, hormones change and bodies age on the inside. That frustration helped fuel her decision to build a business around women’s health.

Berry launched Respin, a community aimed at redefining menopause and female longevity, which she has described as a one-stop shop for all things menopause. In July, she also partnered with Joylux to launch a vaginal dryness gel called Juicy Like a Peach.

Her activism has extended well beyond Hollywood. Berry famously declared that she has menopause during a press briefing in front of the U.S. Capitol, and she has called the issue a human rights matter that should never be politicized.

Her efforts earned her a spot on Forbes’ 50 Over 50 list, alongside leaders who view age as an asset rather than a liability. She has also used social media to spread awareness, sharing confident photos alongside messages celebrating the transition as a fresh start. For Berry, embracing aging doesn’t mean slowing down. She continues to act, build her wellness brand, and speak openly about topics many stars once avoided entirely.

Her latest comments offer a refreshing reminder that confidence can grow with age. By openly accepting the changes in her reflection, Berry is encouraging women everywhere to redefine what beauty looks like later in life.
