Jonathan Bailey has had a very busy September, and his new L’Officiel Hommes photos are the latest highlight. At the start of the month, the ‘Bridgerton’ star was in Italy for the Venice Film Festival as the face of Armani Beauty’s “I Will,” the brand’s first men’s fragrance in more than 20 years. He later sat front row at Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2027 show during London Fashion Week, where fans quickly noticed his new curly, shaggy bangs.

This also isn’t Bailey’s first time working with the fashion title. In the spring of 2021, he covered a digital edition of L’Officiel Hommes Italia Issue 26, photographed by Jason Hetherington and styled by Gaultier Desandre Navarre. At the time, he was preparing for ‘Bridgerton’ season 2, and the magazine explored his love of music, friends, and theater.

Now he’s back in its pages. Many outlets shared striking images of Bailey for L’Officiel Hommes, The photos show him in a moody all-black look, with his dark curls tousled and dark sunglasses adding a mysterious, rock-star feel.

The styling focuses on texture. Bailey wears a soft black velvet jacket over a simple black tee, with a wide black satin sash tied at the waist of his relaxed black trousers. In 1 frame, he leans back against a white paneled wall, while in the other he glances at his phone in front of ornate damask walls and marble.

The look also connects with his recent style. At Burberry just days earlier, Bailey wore a sleek all-black outfit with a fitted rollneck and polished leather trousers. The L’Officiel Hommes images push that dark palette even further, with a more romantic and dramatic edge.

The shoot comes after some major career news. Deadline first reported that Bailey was leaving the West End revival of ‘Sunday in the Park with George,’ about a month after his ‘Wicked’ co-star Ariana Grande stepped away from the same production.

Bailey had been set to play George opposite Grande as Dot, with the Barbican production originally planned for a summer 2027 opening. The production was eventually canceled. BroadwayWorld later reported that the London revival had been called off following both stars’ exits.

Bailey still has new work on the way. Audible has released a first listen of its full-cast audio adaptation of ‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula,’ with Bailey voicing the Count opposite Ella Purnell as Mina Murray. It’s a fitting role for an actor who now seems especially comfortable with gothic, velvet-heavy style.

Bailey’s rise explains why fashion magazines keep wanting to work with him. He first became a household name as Anthony Bridgerton on Netflix, then joined ‘Wicked’ and starred in ‘Jurassic World Rebirth.’ Last year, People named him Sexiest Man Alive, making him the first openly gay man to receive the title in its nearly 40-year history.

His fashion credentials have grown along with his career. Before this year’s Burberry appearance, he attended Burberry’s show during London Fashion Week in September 2025 and Christian Dior’s Spring/Summer 2026 womenswear show during Paris Fashion Week. His Armani Beauty role further cemented his status as a luxury favorite.

The response online was immediate, especially with Bailey’s new curly hairstyle already a hot topic after London Fashion Week. The L’Officiel Hommes images give fans a closer look at that softer, more tousled style in a polished editorial setting.

The combination of velvet, satin, and sunglasses presents a more mysterious side of an actor often associated with period dramas and musical theater. Whether he’s playing a Regency gentleman, a charming prince in Oz, or a vampire count, Bailey keeps showing he can shift into very different characters.
