‘Die My Love’ Star Jennifer Lawrence’s Stunning New Photo Proves Her Bangs Era Is Here To Stay
Few Hollywood stars have turned their hair into a running storyline quite like Jennifer Lawrence. Over the years, the actress has bounced between blonde and brunette and experimented with everything from short crops and bobs to bangs. Lately, though, one particular feature has become the unofficial star of every Jennifer Lawrence appearance: that fringe.
The bangs era arrived with a flourish during the promotional run for ‘Die My Love’, when Lawrence switched up her hair between two red carpet appearances on the same day at the San Sebastian Film Festival.
She then opened the new year by showing off brow-grazing bangs, and the look has stuck around ever since, so much so that fashion writers have started asking whether she’ll ever grow it out. The latest answer appears to be a firm no. On September 29, Matthew Sosnowski shared a new photo of Lawrence.
The shot is soft and understated, with Lawrence gazing off-camera in a white lace-trimmed top, her long honey-toned waves spilling past her shoulders. Her wispy fringe sits just above her eyes, paired with a rosy, glossy lip that keeps the whole look fresh rather than overly polished.
The timing is hardly a coincidence of style. Just a day earlier, Lawrence attended the Dior show in Paris wearing a floor-length baby blue slip dress with delicate white lace trimming the neckline, and styled her long golden-blonde hair in undone waves with full bangs across her forehead.
WWD zeroed in on that Paris appearance, noting her freshly trimmed fringe, with wispy honey and caramel-colored bangs catching the camera flash. The outlet added that the stylist behind that particular trim hasn’t been revealed, though Lawrence has recently worked with both Jacob Rozenberg and Chris Appleton.
Lawrence’s presence in Paris is a tradition by now. She has been a Dior ambassador since 2012 and became the face of the Joy by Dior perfume in 2018. This season, Jonathan Anderson presented his third womenswear collection for the house, and Lawrence sat in a front row that also included Anya Taylor-Joy. W Magazine observed that while her red carpet appearances may be rare, her ambassador role makes her a fixture at the label’s runway shows.
What feels different this time is how much more visible Lawrence has become online. She officially joined Instagram under the handle @jlaw, and her follower count climbed to nearly 2 million.
In her debut Reel, she playfully warned followers that she would leave the platform immediately if anyone posted anything mean, and her bio jokingly explained that her preferred handle was already taken. That shift has not gone unnoticed. W Magazine suggested her new account hints that fans may be seeing a lot more of her on social feeds going forward.
The fresh imagery also lands alongside major career news. Lawrence is starring in Zach Cregger’s original sci-fi thriller ‘The Flood’ at Warner Bros. ‘ New Line Cinema, and studio chairs Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy told Deadline that “Jennifer Lawrence is one of the most gifted and compelling actors working today.”
Plot details remain under wraps, though Cregger has hinted the story unfolds in outer space and has called it his most disturbing film yet. Beyond that, she is set to star alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in ‘What Happens at Night’, directed by Martin Scorsese, and she has an upcoming appearance in ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’.
Between a packed slate, a new social media presence, and a signature fringe that keeps evolving, Lawrence seems to be entering one of her most visible chapters in years. If this latest photo is any indication, the bangs are not going anywhere.
