The next new episode of ‘South Park’ is set to air on Comedy Central on Wednesday, October 14. Episode 3 is listed for October 14 in the official release schedule. Comedy Central has said new episodes arrive every other Wednesday, with the remaining dates falling on September 30, October 14, October 28, November 11 and November 25. That places this installment two weeks after the episode scheduled for September 30.

The ‘South Park’ release date, air time and streaming details are settled, even if plot information is thin. The season has been retitled “South America,” a dig at the Trump administration’s repeated renaming efforts. It arrives on the heels of an Emmy win for Outstanding Animated Program.

Release Date for the Upcoming ‘South Park’ Episode

Rotten Tomatoes lists the episode with an October 14 air date, with Trey Parker credited as both director and screenwriter. Parker, Matt Stone and Anne Garefino are named as executive producers, and the episode carries a mature audience rating.

The season is made up of six episodes, and the finale is scheduled for November 25, just ahead of Thanksgiving. That leaves the run compact, with only a few weeks between now and the closing episode.

Parker and Stone revealed the return during an appearance on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’, and Comedy Central then confirmed the dates in a press release. The announcement followed a familiar pattern for the show, which uses short promotional teasers to reveal its plans.

In recent years the creators have trimmed their seasons to around five or six episodes, while keeping a production schedule loose enough to react to the news almost in real time. That approach explains why release dates are firm while story details tend to stay hidden until broadcast.

What Time the Episode Airs on Comedy Central

The series airs at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central. The premiere used that same slot, and the network has kept the Wednesday night placement for the rest of the run.

Episodes continue on Comedy Central every other Wednesday through November 25. Because of the two week gap, viewers should plan around the specific dates instead of expecting a weekly drop.

Viewers who prefer live viewing can use services such as YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV, provided their subscription includes Comedy Central. Anyone outside those packages can wait for the streaming release the following day.

Where to Watch ‘South Park’ on TV and Streaming

Viewers in the United States can watch new episodes on Comedy Central through a television subscription that includes the channel. That remains the only way to see an episode on the night it airs.

Paramount+ makes each episode available the next day in the United States, Canada and Australia. The service can also be reached through the Paramount+ Apple TV Channel, the Prime Video Channel and the Roku Premium Channel. For this installment, that points to a streaming debut on October 15.

UK viewers can stream the show on Paramount+ as well, with the premiere landing there the day after its Comedy Central broadcast. Paramount+ also carries all 28 previous seasons, which makes it easy to catch up.

Preview of What the Next Episode Could Bring

Concrete details about the upcoming episode are scarce. Its Rotten Tomatoes listing carries only the series’ general synopsis about four elementary school boys in Colorado, rather than a plot description. Any specific storyline will have to wait until closer to air.

The premiere offers some context. Cartman and his friends fell in love with electric bikes, the parents formed a rival biker gang, and Kenny died when his bike blew up, which united the town and led to a run of souvenir shirts. The episode also gave the theme song a makeover to match the new name.

TheWrap noted that the premiere stepped back from the direct attacks on the president that defined last season, and instead joked that the launch of ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’ in November might save the country rather than the midterm elections. That shift suggests the writers may be widening their targets beyond a single figure.

Because Parker and Stone work so close to broadcast, the show can pivot quickly with the headlines. With the town committed to its new name and Kenny’s latest exit already used to rally the neighbors, which target would you most like to see Parker and Stone turn to next, and does the South America premise still have room to grow?
