Anne Hathaway is having the kind of year most actors can only dream of. She revisited the world of fashion in ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ and then played Penelope in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’. Now, Anne Hathaway’s ‘Jurassic World’ ambitions have fans buzzing about what could come next for the Oscar winner.

Her latest project, ‘The End of Oak Street’, gave her plenty of hands-on experience with prehistoric threats. Directed by David Robert Mitchell, the film follows a suburban family whose neighborhood is suddenly transported to a time when prehistoric creatures existed, forcing them to battle dinosaurs to survive. Hathaway plays Denise Platt alongside Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella, and Christian Convery.

It turns out the actress isn’t quite done with dinosaurs. During an appearance on Good Morning Britain, Hathaway said she’s fully on board with joining the ‘Jurassic World’ franchise, explaining that she loves acting and being in movies and joking that she could bring her dino knowledge to the series. She has her sights set on appearing in a follow-up to the Scarlett Johansson-led ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’.

She also made it clear that Johansson is a big part of the appeal. Hathaway said she’d happily serve as Johansson’s brunette sidekick, whether in ‘Jurassic World‘ or any other project the ‘Black Widow’ star might want to team up on. She added that nothing would make her happier.

If ‘The End of Oak Street’ is any indication, Hathaway knows exactly what she’d be signing up for. Speaking on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’, she recalled that director David Robert Mitchell had ambitious shots that required her and McGregor to run take after take. McGregor eventually turned to her and asked if anyone had warned her there would be so much running.

The demanding shoot also brought the cast closer together. At the film’s Los Angeles premiere, Hathaway described a very real bond formed while running, screaming, and being chased by imaginary dinosaurs in the heat. She called it a family horror movie, something she had never had the chance to be part of before.

Hathaway’s timing could be perfect, since a sequel to Johansson’s dinosaur adventure is already in the works. ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ saw Johansson play covert ops expert Zora Bennett, hired to lead a team extracting DNA from the 3 most gargantuan dinosaur species left alive. The film was a box office smash, grossing more than $868 million worldwide.

Development on the follow-up is already underway, with David Koepp returning to write the screenplay and Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey expected to return. However, the project hit a major hurdle when director Gareth Edwards exited over creative differences. The sequel has been rumored for a June 9, 2028, release, though production has yet to begin.

Universal hasn’t announced any casting for the next chapter, so the Hathaway and Johansson team-up remains firmly in wish-list territory. Still, the idea of 2 A-list stars sharing the screen against prehistoric predators is the kind of pitch that tends to get studios’ attention.

Hathaway has plenty on her plate, too. She is currently expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman, joining sons Jonathan and Jack. Whether or not a ‘Jurassic World’ role materializes, her enthusiasm suggests she’s more than ready for another round of dino-dodging.
