The Oscar winner has become one of the most visible fans at the Garden, and her latest late-night appearance turned that fandom into a full-blown highlight. During an April 30 visit to ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ to promote ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’, Hathaway admitted she had considered wearing an OG Anunoby jersey on the show. She settled instead for a subtle nod, adding a blue and orange pocket square to her tailored black Versace suit.

This time, she didn’t have to hold back. Hathaway returned to the show on Wednesday, September 30, when Fallon brought up a Knicks meme before gifting her a signed jersey from Anunoby. She was so thrilled that she put it on right away and kept playing with it instead of answering Fallon’s questions.

Photos from the episode, shared on X, show Hathaway beaming in a blue “New York” jersey with the number 8, layered over a black off-the-shoulder top and a statement gold necklace. The Knicks also sent her a basket of gifts for her baby, along with a card signed by Anunoby.

During a game with Fallon, Hathaway made a bold confession. She admitted she would rather have another Knicks championship than a second Oscar, a declaration that says just about everything about where her loyalties lie.

The backstory explains why fans connect Hathaway to the team’s success. On April 20, the Knicks lost Game 2 of their playoff series to the Atlanta Hawks. On May 1, ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ premiered with a scene featuring Hathaway’s character chatting with Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns at a Hamptons party.

What followed became the stuff of internet legend. The Knicks went on a historic 13-game winning streak and didn’t lose again until Game 3 of the NBA Finals on June 9. Hathaway’s latest appearance celebrated her support during the team’s championship run.

It was originally set for May 15, 2026, before Amazon MGM moved it to its October date.

The episode also highlighted just how packed Hathaway’s year has been. ‘Verity’ marks her fifth film of the year, following projects like ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ and ‘The Odyssey’. She is also currently 5 months pregnant, making the Knicks’ baby gift basket an especially sweet touch.

The rest of the evening featured Riz Ahmed as a guest, with Alex Warren performing.
