Is ‘Wednesday’ Ending After Season 3? A Deleted Post From Jenna Ortega’s Stunt Double Has Fans Worried

Few Netflix shows have captured audiences quite like ‘Wednesday’. Jenna Ortega’s take on the Addams Family’s darkest daughter first premiered on November 23, 2022, and quickly became a global phenomenon. Now, questions about the ‘Wednesday’ Season 3 ending are spreading across social media.

The show has always moved at a deliberate pace. Season 2 arrived in 2 parts, with Part 1 premiering on August 6, 2025, and Part 2 following on September 3, 2025. With Season 3 expected in 2027, fans will have spent roughly 5 real-world years waiting for just 3 seasons.

The latest round of speculation started with a seemingly innocent post. After Netflix wrapped production on Season 3, Jenny Ayumi, Ortega’s longtime stunt double on the series, shared a pair of Instagram Stories that appeared to suggest her time on the show had come to an end.

The first post described the moment as the end of an era and the close of a 5-year chapter. The second featured a throwback to where it all began 5 years earlier in Romania. Shortly after posting, Ayumi deleted the first story, which only fueled more speculation.

Netflix’s own wrap announcement had already raised eyebrows. The streamer declared that the coffin is closed, a phrase some fans interpreted as a subtle clue that Season 3 might be the final chapter.

It’s important to stress that nothing has been confirmed. Netflix has not officially announced that Season 3 will be the show’s final season, so Ayumi’s comments shouldn’t be treated as confirmation of a cancellation or planned ending. Her posts could just as easily reflect her personal experience on the show rather than its overall future.

Even if the series continues, Season 3 is clearly a turning point. Netflix confirmed that the new season will move away from Nevermore Academy as its primary setting in favor of Paris, though Nevermore is still expected to return.

The change follows the Season 2 finale, which sent Wednesday and Uncle Fester on a mission to find her best friend, Enid. Tyler Galpin also remains alive and dangerous, leaving plenty of unfinished business.

Ortega has hinted at the characters’ growth as well. Speaking with Esquire, she explained that with the students now seniors in high school, the story deals with tougher feelings about family, adulthood, and what they really want from life. That senior-year storyline naturally raises questions about the show’s future.

If Wednesday and her classmates graduate, the series would need to address what comes next. Some observers have suggested the show could follow Wednesday into college or adulthood, expanding beyond the school setting entirely. Others see the Paris shift as a sign that the story is already preparing to move on.

Reactions online have been mixed. Under Collider’s post about the rumor, one fan shrugged that 6 years and 3 seasons sounded about right for a final run. Netflix has been on a bit of a final-season streak lately, with several hit shows set to wrap up in 2027. Whether ‘Wednesday’ joins that list remains to be seen, but for now, fans will have to wait for official word from the streamer.

Do you think ‘Wednesday’ should end with Season 3?
