Alex Consani Brings Her Growing Acting Career to the Coven in ‘American Horror Story’
Alex Consani makes her debut in ‘American Horror Story’ as Morwenna the witch, as revealed in the trailer for the anthology’s latest season. The model is one of several newcomers arriving alongside characters returning from earlier seasons.
The casting gives Consani a prominent place in one of the franchise’s most closely watched reunions. The new season premieres on FX and Hulu on September 24. For a performer best known to many viewers from fashion and social media, ‘American Horror Story’ is a notable step onto a larger screen stage.
Alex Consani as Morwenna the Witch
Consani appears as a witch in the trailer, and she has previously starred in music videos for Charli XCX and Doja Cat. That background suggests a screen presence built through short form visual work, which now meets the long form storytelling of a Ryan Murphy production.
Production images offer a first look at how she fits into the ensemble. Consani was photographed filming in SoHo on July 9, 2026, alongside Emma Roberts, Frances Conroy, Gabourey Sidibe, Sarah Paulson, Leslie Grossman and Avantika Vandanapu. Other images from the same shoot show Paulson and Consani in close conversation.
Reports on the set photos describe Consani, Avantika and Grossman as the apparent newcomers to the coven. That positioning places Morwenna among the younger generation of witches stepping beside established franchise names.
American Horror Story Season 13 Cast and Returning Characters
The trailer shows characters returning from ‘Murder House,’ ‘Coven,’ ‘Freak Show,’ ‘Hotel,’ ‘Cult’ and ‘Apocalypse.’ Among them are Constance Langdon, Cordelia Goode, Madison Montgomery, Marie Laveau, Rubber Man, Twisty the Clown and Kai Anderson.
The supporting list is broad. It includes Frances Conroy, Mena Suvari, Madelaine Petsch, Tig Notaro, Orlando Jones and John Waters. Ariana Grande, Paul Anthony Kelly and Joey Pollari are also part of the cast.
Evan Peters returns as Kai Anderson and James Patrick March, and he is rumored to play five characters in total. The franchise has long relied on familiar faces, and more than 55 main actors have appeared across its earlier seasons, with Peters, Sarah Paulson and Lily Rabe each appearing in nine. Consani joins a deep and well established company.
Coven Witches Return After a Long Break
‘Coven’ was the third season of the series, set in New Orleans in 2013, and it followed a coven of witches descended from Salem. Based on the cast reunions, the new season appears to return to the ‘Coven’ and ‘Apocalypse’ storylines, with ‘Apocalypse’ having revisited those New Orleans witches as they battled the Antichrist.
Story details remain limited. The exact plot of the new season is being kept under wraps. Even after the first teaser, there was no synopsis available.
The official description promises an all star cast, many of whom are reprising fan favorite roles, and the season will run for 13 episodes. It is expected to run until October 29. The season was originally planned for a Halloween premiere before Murphy moved it to September.
The season also marks the first new episodes since 2024, which is the longest gap between seasons since the show began in 2011. That wait adds weight to every new addition, Consani included.
Alex Consani Acting Career Beyond the Runway
Consani arrives with a considerable public profile. She became the first transgender person to win the Fashion Award for Model of the Year in December 2024, and she was included on Time’s inaugural Time 100 Creators list in 2025. By early 2024 she had also built an audience of more than two million followers on TikTok.
Her focus now appears to be shifting. In a Harper’s Bazaar summer cover story, she spoke about taking a small step back from modeling to think about what she wants to do, which includes acting, writing and directing. She said that the only lines she is doing are the ones on the acting script.
Alongside the new season of ‘American Horror Story,’ she has a role in the upcoming A24 film ‘Peaked.’ The comedy from director Molly Gordon follows two girls who traumatized classmates in high school as they try to relive their glory days at a ten year reunion. The cast includes Emma Mackey, Simone Ashley, Laura Dern and Amy Sedaris.
Together, the two projects show a performer building a screen career on her own terms, and Morwenna will be the first real test of how she holds her own among Cordelia, Madison and the rest of a returning coven, so which of the old witches do you most want to see her clash with when the season arrives?
