Meet the Cast of Netflix’s ‘Less of a Stranger’ (With Photos)
Netflix’s ‘Less of a Stranger’ arrives on the service on 7 October 2026 as a feature drama inspired by the memories of Lady Pank leader Jan Borysewicz. Kristoffer Rus directs, while Wiktor Piątkowski and Joanna Kozłowska wrote the screenplay.
The ‘Less of a Stranger’ cast pairs a screen debutant in the lead with a group of established Polish actors. Hubert Miłkowski, Krzysztof Oleksyn, Mikołaj Matczak and Marcel Barra play the other members of the band. Here is a closer look at the names worth knowing before the film starts streaming.
Mikołaj Bukrewicz

Bukrewicz plays the adult Jan Borysewicz and makes his big screen debut with the role. Reporting on the film describes him as a composer and guitarist, which suits a part built around music.
The story is told from the perspective of a guitarist who refuses to bend to imposed rules, using music as a language of freedom. That places the lead performance at the center of everything the film attempts.
Borysewicz himself has weighed in on the project. In a statement published by About Netflix, he calls the film a rock and roll story, but also an honest account of a passion that can give freedom and take a great deal away. The film also points to the cost of success, including family tragedies, personal downfalls and conflicts with the authorities.
Mirosław Tomczuk

Tomczuk takes on the role of the young Jan Borysewicz. Netflix’s own title page lists him among its three starring names.
The younger version of the character carries the origins of the story. Coverage of the film notes that it begins with a concert interrupted by the militia.
The film is set against the realities of Poland in its late communist years. Borysewicz was born and spent his youth in Wrocław, and some of the filming took place in that city.
Patryk Pietrzak

Pietrzak plays Andrzej Mogielnicki, the co-founder and principal lyricist of the band. Rotten Tomatoes lists the same character name for him.
A lyricist role gives the story a creative partner for Borysewicz. The film is meant to show the band’s rapid popularity as well as tensions within the group.
It also examines the thin line between creative freedom and self destruction. Mogielnicki’s presence widens the story beyond one man and one guitar.
Hubert Miłkowski

Miłkowski is one of four actors playing the other members of Lady Pank. Rotten Tomatoes credits him as Paweł Mścisławski.
The same listing names Oleksyn as Edmund Stasiak and Matczak as Jarosław Szlagowski. The sources I reviewed do not give a character name for Marcel Barra.
The film is described as a music driven story, so the band scenes will carry real weight. The ensemble has to feel like a working group of musicians for the portrait to hold together.
Kinga Preis

Preis appears in the cast alongside Ireneusz Czop. One report describes the supporting group as well known Polish actors.
Maciej Musiałowski and Konrad Kąkol also appear in the film. The sources I found do not say which characters Preis, Czop, Musiałowski or Kąkol play.
The film runs 120 minutes and is released as a Netflix original. With so much of the story resting on Bukrewicz and Tomczuk sharing one character, which of these performances do you think will best capture the early years of Lady Pank when the film arrives on Netflix?
