‘The Ark’ Season 3 Episode 12 Finale Release Date, Time, Where to Watch and Preview

Share:

The finale of ‘The Ark’ is set to air on Wednesday, October 14, closing out the current run of Syfy’s space drama. The season follows Captain Garnet and part of her crew back into space to look for other lost Earth survivors, while the rest of the team stays on Homebase 1 to explore a new world.

This guide covers the release date, airtime, streaming options and what the available episode information suggests about the ‘The Ark’ finale. The series returned after a second season finale in which the Ark One crew heard a distress call from the distant planet Ross-128 while celebrating a new human friendly planet that showed signs of an earlier civilization. Syfy officially renewed the show in March 2025.

Finale Release Date for ‘The Ark’ on Syfy

TVmaze lists the finale for Wednesday, October 14, which fits the pattern of new episodes arriving weekly on Wednesdays on Syfy. The season opened on Wednesday, July 29, so the finale closes a run that has kept the same midweek rhythm from the start.

The finale’s title is less settled than its date. Rotten Tomatoes and TVmaze both list the episode as “Any Means Necessary”, while other listings, including TheTVDB, name it “We Can’t Save Everyone.”

Adding to the overlap, TheTVDB uses “By Any Means Necessary” as the title of the September 16 episode. Until Syfy’s broadcast, the finale title is best treated as unconfirmed.

What Time the Finale of ‘The Ark’ Airs

Syfy has kept the series in a 10 p.m. slot, and TVmaze lists the finale at 22:00. The season’s return was announced for 10 p.m. ET/PT, so viewers should plan around that window if they want to watch live.

Viewers in the Central time zone can look for the earlier slot. Syfy scheduled the previous episode in the 9 p.m. Central time slot, and the finale is expected to follow the same pattern.

Canadian viewers watch on the CTV Sci-Fi Channel, where the season premiere aired on July 30 at 10 p.m. That was a day after the U.S. debut, so finale timing there may follow the same pattern, although the listings reviewed do not confirm it.

Where to Watch the Finale on Syfy and Peacock

The simplest option is the original broadcast, since the series airs on Syfy and streams on Peacock, with episodes available to stream the day after they air. New episodes have historically landed on Peacock the Thursday after they air on Syfy, which would put the finale on the service on October 15 if that holds.

Viewers without cable have a few routes. Syfy can be streamed through Hulu + Live TV, Philo or Sling TV, and Tom’s Guide pointed to a YouTube TV free trial as another way to watch live.

Outside the United States, the season arrived on BINGE in Australia on August 25, and UK viewers are expected to find it on Sky and NOW. Anyone who wants to catch up first can do so, since the first two seasons are available on Fandango at Home.

Finale Preview and What the Story Is Building Toward

Syfy has shared few details about the finale. The network tends to hold specific synopses until closer to the air date, and one episode guide still shows no description for the finale. That leaves any preview resting on the setup from the most recent episodes.

The latest official summary covers the episode that aired on October 7. Ark One returns to Ark 22 with a plan, and the mystery surrounding Homebase is solved, though it may be too late. Garnet also embarks on a rescue mission while the entire crew faces an existential threat to Homebase. A transcript of that hour includes dialogue about a cure for Gen 3 psychopathy and a plan to get it to other Gen 3 survivors, beginning with Ark 22.

Earlier episodes laid the groundwork for the endgame. One recap described volcanic activity as the cause of dying birds and a possible danger to people, and said the season had entered its final stretch. The same hour sent the crew to a space station run by a billionaire named Anton Novak, and the next installment, “The Lucky Ones,” followed Eva and Brice as an act of kindness turned into obsession.

Christie Burke, Reece Ritchie, Richard Fleeshman, Stacey Read and Ryan Adams are among the cast, and Dean Devlin created the series. Production is based primarily at PFI Studios in Belgrade, Serbia. Tell us in the comments which one Garnet should choose in the finale of ‘The Ark’, the colony at Homebase or the cure meant for the Gen 3 survivors.
