‘American Horror Story’ Season 13 Episode 9 Release Date, Time, Where to Watch and Preview
The ninth episode of ‘American Horror Story’ arrives on Oct. 15, in the closing stretch of a season built around returning characters and familiar settings. The episode is titled “The Devil Is in the Details.” It is scheduled to air alongside the tenth episode of the season.
This guide covers the release date, air time, streaming options and official plot description for the latest chapter of ‘American Horror Story’. The season has a somewhat uneven release pattern, with a different number of episodes arriving each week. Knowing the schedule makes it easier to plan around the final weeks before the finale.
‘American Horror Story’ Release Date and Weekly Schedule
FX lists the ninth episode with an Oct. 15 release date. Disney’s schedule places it in a pair with the tenth episode on that Thursday.
The season opened on Sept. 24 with three episodes, followed by three more on Oct. 1 and two on Oct. 8. Two more episodes follow on Oct. 22, and the finale arrives on its own on Oct. 29, just in time for Halloween. That makes the Oct. 15 installment the start of the last three weeks of the run.
Ryan Murphy said in July that the season would revisit ‘Coven’ without serving as a direct sequel. Filming began on April 6 and wrapped on July 27. The relatively compressed production has fed into a season that moves quickly from one chapter to the next.
Air Time for the Next Episode on FX
New episodes air every Thursday at nine p.m. Eastern and six p.m. Pacific on FX. FX set that same slot for the series premiere. The ninth episode follows the same pattern as the weeks before it.
Because the schedule pairs episodes, viewers tuning in on Oct. 15 should expect two chapters in a single evening. The following Thursday brings another pair, and the finale then stands alone a week later.
Where to Watch on Hulu and Disney+
Each episode reaches Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ the day after it airs on FX, for bundle subscribers. Viewers need an eligible standalone Hulu subscription or a Disney+ and Hulu bundle. That means the ninth episode should be available to stream on Friday, Oct. 16.
International viewers can stream the season on Disney+ in select regions. The season is also available on Hulu in the United States. Anyone who has fallen behind can begin with the three episodes that opened the season on Sept. 24.
Episode Preview and What to Expect
The official description says that, alone and at a loss, Constance risks everything to reinvent her family’s fate. The episode was written by Ryan Murphy, Ned Martel and Charlie Carver, and directed by Adam Penn. Jessica Lange plays Constance Langdon this season.
The preceding episode sets up the stakes. The episode titled “Hell No” aired on Oct. 8, and its description says the witches strike a bargain that will cost someone dearly while facing an ungodly threat. The tenth episode that follows on the same night is titled “The Prodigal Son.”
The season leans on its history. Sarah Paulson plays Cordelia Goode, Evan Peters plays Kai Anderson, and John Carroll Lynch returns as Twisty the Clown. Peters told The Hollywood Reporter that Murphy assembled the cast from different seasons for what he called a greatest hits season. Elements from Murder House, Coven, Asylum, Hotel and Cult are meant to converge against a new supernatural threat.
With Constance cut off from her family and the witches facing a costly bargain, will her attempt to rewrite her family’s fate help Cordelia’s coven or complicate its fight before the finale, and which returning character do you most want to see at the center of it.
