‘Burlesque’ Star Christina Aguilera (45) Goes Full Gothic Glam at National Prep Day Celebration in Los Angeles
Christina Aguilera has never been one to play it safe with fashion. Ever since she pioneered the chaps trend in her iconic “Dirrty” video in 2002, the singer has built a reputation for bold, lingerie-inspired looks that keep fans talking.
This year has been no exception. In Paris, she stepped out for a date night with her husband, Matthew Rutler, in a sheer leopard-print catsuit under a long black suede trench coat, and during a trip to Ischgl, Austria, she wore a baby pink corset top in the snow.
Now, the 45-year-old singer has delivered another daring red carpet moment. On October 10, Aguilera attended MISTR’s 2nd Annual National PrEP Day celebration at The Abbey in Los Angeles.
She wore a sheer black bodysuit covered in cross motifs, layered over a small embroidered lace bra. The cross details gave the entire outfit a distinctly gothic feel, while garter details added to the lingerie-inspired mood.
Aguilera finished the look with black suede thigh-high boots featuring thin high heels, pointed toes, lacing, and sheer sections with a geometric pattern. Her long platinum blonde hair fell in loose waves, paired with dramatic smoky eye makeup.

The look quickly drew attention online, with fan accounts sharing photos from the event. CelebMafia gave the outfit an 8 out of 10, praising its distinctive cross ornamentation and impressive footwear.
The site noted that the crowded detailing held it back from a higher score. It also pointed out that the theatrical outfit was an unusual choice for a health-awareness event. Aguilera has leaned heavily into bodysuits and thigh-high boots throughout the year.
The darker mood of cross motifs, lace and garters offered a striking contrast to her glittery stage costumes. The event marked a return to a familiar spot for the singer. Back in May, Aguilera attended The Abbey’s 35th anniversary party in West Hollywood in another all-black, edgy look.

For that appearance, she wore an Agent Provocateur Mariann balconette bra under a sheer, deeply plunging top, paired with micro shorts, sheer tights and dangling black cross earrings. Adam Lambert, Cara Delevingne, Chelsea Handler and Gabrielle Union were also among the guests that night.
That outfit sparked plenty of online chatter too. While many fans praised her confidence and daring style, others debated her appearance on social media. Aguilera’s gothic, lingerie-inspired fashion also echoes one of her most famous projects. She spent much of the past year promoting ‘Burlesque: The Musical’, attending its world premiere in London in July 2025.
