Jennifer Lawrence has always kept her marriage to art dealer Cooke Maroney mostly out of the spotlight. The Oscar winner rarely talks about her home life, and the couple usually show up in public through the occasional paparazzi photo in New York.

October tends to bring some of those sightings. The couple married in October 2019, and their anniversary has become a natural time for photographers and fans to watch for them around Manhattan.

On Tuesday, October 14, Lawrence and Maroney were photographed heading to dinner in New York, just days before their wedding anniversary. In the photos, shared by HQCelebCorner, the 2 are holding hands as they cross a street in the evening.

Both were dressed simply and elegantly. Maroney wore a dark double-breasted suit with an open-collared white shirt. Lawrence wore a black textured jacket over dark wide-leg trousers, with her hair pulled back loosely.

It wasn’t their only night out that week. On Friday, October 9, the pair were seen arriving at Balthazar in New York for a dinner party. Maroney wore a suit and tie, and Lawrence wore a long overcoat over a black dress. They arrived holding hands and mingled with friends in the lobby before being seated.

That same week, they were also reportedly out at dinner for Dakota Johnson’s birthday. For a couple known for their privacy, that’s a busy social stretch, and it looks like they’re celebrating their anniversary month around town.

Lawrence and Maroney married on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at Belcourt Castle, a mansion in Newport, Rhode Island. About 150 guests reportedly attended, including Emma Stone, Kris Jenner, and Amy Schumer. Around 100 fans gathered outside the mansion during the celebration.

The relationship moved fast. The couple met in spring 2018 through a mutual friend, were photographed together in Paris and Rome that August, and were reportedly engaged by February 2019. Their wedding came about a year after they first met.

Since then, the family has grown. Lawrence and Maroney welcomed their first son, Cy, in February 2022, and their second son was born in early 2025. Lawrence has spoken openly about how much motherhood has changed her. Her children now factor into her decisions about when and where she works.

Public couple moments are still rare. Before this week, one of their more notable joint appearances was at the 2026 Golden Globes. In December 2025, they were also photographed at Raoul’s in SoHo for the restaurant’s 50th anniversary celebration.

Lawrence’s career is busy alongside the date nights. In late September, she was announced as the star of ‘The Flood’, an original sci-fi thriller from ‘Weapons’ director Zach Cregger. New Line Cinema is producing it with Amblin Entertainment, and the plot is being kept secret. It’s set to open on August 11, 2028.

There’s also ongoing speculation that Lawrence could make a cameo as Katniss Everdeen in ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping’, which hits theaters in November. Nothing has been officially confirmed, but fans of the franchise have been hoping she’ll return.

Lawrence and Maroney don’t need red carpets for people to notice them. A simple walk to dinner, holding hands and dressed for a night out, says plenty about a marriage that has lasted almost 7 years. With their anniversary days away, fans are hoping for a few more sightings like this one.
