‘Elsbeth’ Season 4 Episode 3 Release Date, Time, Where to Watch and Preview

The third episode of ‘Elsbeth’ arrives on Thursday, October 22, on CBS under the title “Consciously Unsistered.” The installment centers on the murder of a former pop star and a sibling rivalry tied to a lifestyle mogul, with Elsbeth’s mother also paying a visit. It follows a premiere and a second chapter that have already set the tone for the current run.

The CBS crime comedy starring Carrie Preston returned on October 8 with “Crazy in Love.” “Death of a Playwright” followed on October 15. Here is what viewers need to know about the schedule, the new time slot, the streaming options and the story ahead.

‘Elsbeth’ Release Date for the Latest Episode

Reelgood’s episode guide lists the next installment for October 22, with later episodes set for October 29 and November 5. The series follows a weekly release schedule, so viewers can expect a new entry each Thursday.

CBS renewed the series on January 22, alongside fellow Thursday night shows such as ‘Ghosts,’ ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’ and ‘Matlock.’ That early renewal gave the network a clear path to a fall return.

Episode listings credit Joe Menendez as director, with Anju Andre-Bergmann and Leah Nanako Winkler as the writers. Viewership figures for the installment have not yet been listed.

Time Slot and Weekly Schedule on CBS

The show now airs on Thursdays at 9 PM ET in a new primetime slot. New episodes arrive at 9 PM ET and PT. For most of its run the series aired at 10/9c.

The change came about because ‘Matlock’ moved to midseason for its latest outing. The move places ‘Elsbeth’ after ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’ and the new comedy ‘Eternally Yours.’

On premiere night the CBS lineup began with ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’ at 8 PM ET and ‘Eternally Yours’ at 8:30 PM ET, with the new drama ‘Cupertino’ following at 10 PM ET. That arrangement gives the series a lead-in from two comedies before a fresh drama takes over.

Where to Watch on CBS and Paramount+

In the United States, viewers can watch the series on CBS every Thursday at 9 PM. Paramount+ subscribers on the Premium plan can also stream the broadcast live through their local CBS station using the Live TV hub.

All Paramount+ subscribers can watch each episode on demand starting the day after it airs. Reelgood notes that a Paramount+ free trial offers a way to watch online at no cost.

Supported devices include smartphones, tablets, computers, smart TVs and streaming devices. Those who have not seen the previous season can catch up on Paramount+.

Episode Preview and Guest Stars

“Consciously Unsistered” begins with the murder of a former pop star, and Elsbeth probes the bitter sibling rivalry between the victim and her lifestyle mogul sister. Elsbeth’s mother, Lydia, also comes to visit during the case.

Jemima Kirke guest stars as the mogul sister. Her character is named Winter Redgrave and is described as the CEO of a lifestyle brand. Christine Ebersole appears as Lydia.

Each episode reveals the identity of the murderer in the opening segment, which shifts the focus to how Elsbeth pieces the case together. The series is a spin-off of ‘The Good Wife,’ with the Kings serving as executive producers on both shows.

Preston stars alongside Wendell Pierce, and the show follows Elsbeth Tascioni as she works with the NYPD in New York City. Her son Teddy set a wedding date in the premiere. With a case built around sisters who cannot get along and Lydia arriving in the middle of it, do you think Elsbeth will find her mother’s visit a welcome distraction or a reminder of family tensions she would rather avoid?
