Daisy Edgar-Jones Wears Archival Rodarte for ‘Sense and Sensibility’ Press in New York
Jane Austen adaptations come with a built-in sense of romance, and Daisy Edgar-Jones has carried that mood onto the red carpet. The star of the new ‘Sense and Sensibility’ has spent about a month on a press tour across 3 continents, from London to Los Angeles, with stylist Dani Michelle.
Her looks have quickly become a highlight of the campaign. She has mixed archival designer pieces with modern silhouettes in a way that fits the period drama she’s promoting.
The latest standout came in New York, where Edgar-Jones stepped out for ‘Sense and Sensibility’ press in an archival dress from Rodarte’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection. The sheer lace midi featured gold and ivory embroidery and a beaded heart motif on the bodice.
The dress also had a white ruffled lace neckline, sheer mesh side panels, subtle metallic threading, and translucent tulle layers draped over her shoulders and down her back. She paired it with gold Jude Mixer sandals and wore her hair half-up in soft waves with bangs.
The Rodarte dress was one of 6 looks Edgar-Jones wore in New York. Others included a Fall 2025 Chloé floral blouse with a frilled lace collar and sheer black skirt, a sculpted John Galliano jacket with jeans and a navy Burberry trench.

She also wore a cream lace corset with an asymmetrical peplum and jeans, plus a white off-the-shoulder dress with scalloped details. The mix of romantic lace and relaxed denim kept her looks feeling fresh and modern.
Edgar-Jones’ tour wardrobe has included several notable pieces. For the London premiere, she wore a custom champagne silk Vivienne Westwood gown with a corseted bodice and gathered train, while in Berlin she chose a vintage Giorgio Armani Privé gown from spring 2005.

In Sydney, she wore a sheer nude Miu Miu gown with silver sequins, and in Los Angeles she wore an archival 1999 lavender Chloé look designed by Stella McCartney. An after-party look by Dilara Findikoglu added a bolder, corseted mini to the mix.
‘Sense and Sensibility’ is directed by Georgia Oakley, whose feature debut was ‘Blue Jean’, with a screenplay by Diana Reid. Working Title produced the film, with Focus Features distributing in the U.S. and Universal handling international markets.

Critics have praised Edgar-Jones and MacKay, while some have singled out Creed-Miles as a breakout. Others have questioned whether another adaptation was needed after Ang Lee’s 1995 version starring Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet.
The film opens in U.S. theaters on October 16, making the New York appearances part of its final push before release. It enters a crowded weekend alongside ‘Street Fighter’ and ‘Whalefall’.

Edgar-Jones’ fashion has kept the film in the conversation throughout its global rollout, and the Rodarte dress may be one of the tour’s most memorable looks. Her press wardrobe has closely mirrored the tone of the film, with romantic lace, soft colors, and vintage pieces that suit an Austen story.
It’s a smart strategy that connects her personal style to the character she plays. As audiences meet her version of Elinor this weekend, her standout press tour looks have helped make the campaign memorable.
