‘VisionQuest’ Star Lauren Morais Reveals Her Favorite MCU Characters, and One Is Her Own Castmate
For Lauren Morais, ‘VisionQuest’ marks a major leap into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Welsh actor trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and built her early career with TV credits including ‘Mudtown’, ‘The Red King’ and ‘The Crow Girl’, before landing what’s been described as the biggest break of her career so far.
Her casting in Marvel’s Disney+ series was announced in November 2025, alongside comedian Diane Morgan. In the show, Morais plays Lisa Molinari, a new character with no established Marvel Comics history, who is closely connected to Ruaridh Mollica’s Thomas Shepherd.
Now that she’s officially part of the MCU, Morais has shared which characters she loves most. In a conversation with Capital Buzz, she named her favorites: Agatha Harkness, Lady Death, Ms. Marvel and E.D.I.T.H.
Morais’ picks lean heavily into the corner of the MCU that ‘VisionQuest’ belongs to. Agatha Harkness, played by Kathryn Hahn, was introduced in ‘WandaVision’ as the nosy neighbor Agnes before headlining her own series, ‘Agatha All Along’.

Lady Death, played by Aubrey Plaza, was revealed in ‘Agatha All Along’, becoming one of that show’s most memorable additions. Both characters come from the same trilogy that ‘VisionQuest’ now concludes, making Morais’ choices feel especially fitting.
Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan also earned a spot on the list. Ms. Marvel stands out as the MCU’s first Muslim hero, and Vellani’s enthusiastic performance has made the character a fan favorite. Her inclusion broadens Morais’ list beyond the Westview corner of the franchise. It also suggests the actor has been following the MCU’s newer generation of heroes closely.

The most interesting pick is E.D.I.T.H., because that character appears in ‘VisionQuest’ itself. Emily Hampshire plays the AI, which takes on a human appearance in the series, reportedly marking the first on-screen identity for the Tony Stark creation.
Dawn Michelle King previously voiced E.D.I.T.H., an AI with surveillance and weapons capabilities. Choosing a character played by a fellow castmate adds a sweet touch to Morais’ answer and hints at the camaraderie on set.
The series premiered on Disney+ on October 14 with 2 episodes, with new installments arriving weekly into November across its 8-episode run. Terry Matalas serves as showrunner, while Jac Schaeffer, creator of ‘WandaVision’ and ‘Agatha All Along’, is an executive producer.
Paul Bettany returns as the rebuilt White Vision, who consults a set of AI personas including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S. and Ultron. A bounty eventually sends him on the run with Thomas Shepherd, possibly his reincarnated son.

The ensemble also includes James Spader as Ultron, Todd Stashwick as the bounty hunter Paladin, and T’Nia Miller as Jocasta. James D’Arcy plays J.A.R.V.I.S. in human form, while Orla Brady plays F.R.I.D.A.Y.
Early reception for ‘VisionQuest’ has been mixed, with some critics arguing it struggles to connect emotionally despite its ambitious premise. Still, the show has generated plenty of conversation among fans, from Easter eggs to its sprawling AI cast.
For Morais, the show offers a chance to introduce Lisa Molinari to a massive global audience. With her role still largely under wraps, viewers will have to keep watching to see how her character fits into Vision and Tommy’s journey.
Morais’ favorites make one thing clear: she isn’t just a new MCU actor; she’s a genuine fan. Her picks span witches, cosmic beings, teenage superheroes, and artificial intelligence, a varied list that reflects how wide the franchise has grown. As ‘VisionQuest’ continues its weekly run, fans may soon be adding Lisa Molinari to their own lists of favorite MCU characters.
