The next ‘War’ episode arrives on Thursday, November 5, giving viewers another week inside the cutthroat world of London’s rival law firms. Listings place it under the title “The Simple Act of Paying Attention.” The season is moving toward its final stretch, so each installment now carries more weight.

Here is what is known about the release date, time, streaming options and story setup. The series was created by George Kay and follows the divorce of tech entrepreneur Morgan Henderson and film star Carla Duval. This guide to the sixth episode of ‘War’ sticks to confirmed details, since much of the plot is still under wraps.

‘War’ Release Date and Time on HBO

HBO lists the episode for Thursday, November 5, at 9 p.m. That fits the usual pattern, since new episodes of the season air on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET and PT.

UK viewers get the episode a little later. The UK date is listed as Friday, November 6, on Sky and NOW. The same one day gap applied to the premiere, which landed on HBO on October 1 and on Sky and NOW the following day.

Runtime details vary by source. One listing puts the episode at 53 minutes, while another guide estimates roughly an hour. The exact length remains a little unsettled.

The calendar also shows how close the season is to its end. The seventh episode is scheduled for November 12 and the eighth for November 19. That leaves only a few weeks of story after this one.

Where to Watch ‘War’ in the US, UK and Canada

In the United States, the series airs on HBO and also streams on HBO Max, with the premiere starting at 9 p.m. ET. The same weekly timing applies to every episode this season.

Canadian viewers have their own home for the show. ‘War’ streams on Crave in Canada, with new episodes released weekly. In the UK, the series is available on Sky.

Other regions are covered as well. From October 2, the series debuted on HBO Max in Australia, Southeast Asia, Latin America, France and Belgium. For anyone looking to sample it cheaply, Reelgood notes that a Hulu free trial with the HBO Max add-on can be used to watch.

Episode Preview and What the Synopsis Reveals

The official description is brief but points to trouble inside the firms. A troubling error discovered by Molly leads Johnny to play down the situation, while Serena and Nick press the staff with questions.

Those names carry weight in the larger story. Johnny is the ambitious young lawyer pulled into a ruthless world, and Serena Byrne and Nicholas Taylor are partners in life and business at Taylor & Byrne. A workplace mistake that forces them into investigator mode suggests the pressure on the divorce case is spilling into the offices themselves.

Beyond that, little has been shared. At least one episode guide treats further details about the sixth episode as not yet revealed. Viewers will likely learn more once the fifth episode airs on October 29.

‘War’ Cast, Creator and Critical Reception

The ensemble is led by Dominic West as Morgan Henderson and Sienna Miller as Carla Duval, with Archie Renaux as Jonathan Warren, Phoebe Fox as Serena Byrne and James McArdle as Nicholas Taylor. Ben Taylor serves as lead director on the series. Kay has said his influences include glossy 1990s dramas, and he pointed to ‘The West Wing’ and ‘Ally McBeal’ as shows whose humor and repartee he wanted to echo.

Critics have been split on how well the season delivers. TheWrap praised the performances from West and Miller and called the drama slick and intricate. TV Guide argued the show suffers from an overpopulated cast and pulls too many punches for something called ‘War’.

The story will not end with this season. The series has already been renewed for a second season, set to star Marisa Tomei and Kelly Macdonald. With Molly’s discovery putting Johnny in an awkward spot just as Serena and Nick start asking questions, do you think the cover up can hold, and which side of this legal battle ends up paying for it?
