Danny Webb has a long history in Hollywood, but his latest role in the “Game of Thrones” universe is certainly the most revealing one yet. In the second episode of the new HBO series “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” Webb appeared as Ser Arlan of Pennytree in a scene that caught everyone’s attention.

The episode opened with a full-frontal nude shot that had fans on social media buzzing about the character’s impressive physical presence.

The show’s creator, Ira Parker, initially joked that he couldn’t remember if the “instrument” was real or a fake, but the truth came out on January 26. Prosthetic designer Waldo Mason took to Instagram to confirm that his team was responsible for the look. Very proud to have forged Ser Arlan Pennytree’s formidable weapon for the opening moments of this episode! Mason shared, along with photos of how they made the mold.

The team behind the prosthetic included several artists who worked to make the ten-inch silicone piece look as lifelike as possible. Mason explained that the application process was quite intimate and took place in a white tent in the rainy Belfast countryside. Luckily, he was a consummate professional and was happy to work with us to make it as realistic as possible, the designer added, praising Webb for his patience during the fittings.

Ira Parker decided to include this specific detail to give Ser Arlan a bit of a legendary status, even though the character dies early in the story. Since the knight passed away on a lonely road without any glory, Parker wanted to give him one “special thing” that people would remember. I felt the need to give him his one special thing, to channel a little Boogie Nights, I suppose, Parker told Entertainment Weekly when explaining the creative choice.

As of late January 2026, Danny Webb is keeping busy with more than just acting in Westeros. While fans are watching him in “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” he is also pursuing a major passion project in the world of motorcycle racing. He recently launched Stanford Racing, a new team in the Moto4 British Cup, where he serves as the team manager.

The show itself, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” is a shorter, more personal spinoff than the original “Game of Thrones” series. It consists of six episodes that are about thirty minutes long, focusing on the adventures of a hedge knight named Dunk and his young squire, Egg. The first season premiered on January 18, and is already a huge hit with critics who enjoy the smaller, “buddy-comedy” feel of the story.

Do you think that using such realistic prosthetics adds a sense of grit to the world of Westeros, or was this specific scene just a bit too much for a fantasy show? Share your thoughts in the comments.
