A New Face for 007: James Bond Franchise Gets a Fresh Lead
Patrick Gibson has been announced as the voice of James Bond in the upcoming video game 007 First Light, a collaboration between IO Interactive and Amazon.
The game was showcased at the September 2025 State of Play event, giving fans their first glimpse of Gibson’s take on a young, early-career Bond.
007 First Light explores James Bond’s beginnings in MI6. Players will follow him as a resourceful and sometimes reckless recruit, learning the ropes in the spy agency’s training program.
Gibson will be joined by Lennie James as Greenway, Priyanga Burford as M, Alastair Mackenzie as Q, Kiera Lester as Moneypenny, and Noémie Nakai as Ms. Roth, who bring life to other key characters in the game.
The game is set to launch on March 27, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch 2. Pre-orders are available now at $69.99 for the standard edition, with early buyers automatically upgraded to the deluxe edition.
This upgrade includes cosmetic items and a 24-hour early digital download. A premium special edition priced at $299.99 is also available, featuring the base game, deluxe content, a Golden Gun figurine, a steelcase with magnets, a certificate of authenticity, a Golden Gun weapon skin, and an Obsidian Gold suit.
While the video game has officially cast its James Bond, the live-action films have not yet revealed the next actor for the iconic role.
This new video game offers fans a unique chance to experience the early life of James Bond, exploring his training, missions, and first challenges as a young spy. Gibson’s performance as the voice of Bond promises to give players an authentic and engaging journey into the world of 007.
