Aaron Goodwin’s Shocking ‘Ghost Adventures’ Episode Reveals Wife’s Murder Plot
A new episode of “Ghost Adventures” captured a shocking and personal moment for host Aaron Goodwin.
During filming at the abandoned Hollydale Mental Hospital in Downey, California, Goodwin learned that his wife, Victoria Goodwin, had been arrested for planning to have him killed. The episode aired Wednesday on Discovery+.
In a clip first reported by TMZ, Goodwin, 49, is seen looking at his phone in disbelief. “Hold on one second,” he says before stepping aside to take a call.
Cast member Jay Wasley asks, “You alright, you ok?” Goodwin responds, “Bro, the police are at my house… I gotta go outside,” and quickly leaves the dark hospital. The show limited the footage out of respect for him.
Authorities charged Victoria Goodwin, 32, with solicitation to commit murder and conspiracy to commit murder after she allegedly hired a hitman to kill her husband. TMZ reported that she had been involved with multiple men before the plot, including convicted killer Grant Amato.
Amato, serving life in a Florida prison for murdering his family, had been in contact with Victoria as a pen pal after appearing in the documentary “Ctrl+Alt+Desire.”
Police say Victoria had been messaging Amato since October 2024, expressing a desire to kill her husband rather than get a divorce.
One message cited by authorities reportedly read, “Am I a bad person? Because I chose to end his existence. Not divorce.” She allegedly offered $11,515 to hire the hitman and provided information about Aaron’s location. The plot was discovered after corrections officers confiscated Amato’s phone as contraband.
After the plot came to light, Aaron filed for divorce. In an Instagram post on Tuesday, he said he would not be watching the episode, explaining, “I won’t be watching this episode cause I don’t want to relive that night again & what happened before the call. This lockdown is insane & disturbing with what happened during our investigation.”
Victoria Goodwin was later found guilty and sentenced to a minimum of 36 months and a maximum of 90 months in a Nevada prison.
