When you’re a huge fan of something, no runtime can be too long. Lord of the Rings fans know that the best. But nowadays, superhero fans have also got used to sitting through movies that can be longer than any other regular movie.

Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame was the longest superhero movie ever made, with a runtime of 3 hours and 1 minute, until Zack Snyder’s Justice League overthrown it with the runtime of 4 hours and 2 minutes. But, let’s not forget that ZSJL wasn’t released in theaters, so you could’ve paused it if it was too long for your taste (or if you couldn’t hold it any longer). Still, other movies were shorter than that but still longer than any usual superhero movie. The regular runtime of superhero movies nowadays is usually around 1 hour and 50 minutes to 2 hours and 20 minutes. Although there are some movies (like Venom) that might have been even shorter than that.

Avengers: Infinity War, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Eternals, Batman V Superman, etc. All of them were longer than 2 hours and 30 minutes. Recent rumors are also suggesting that the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness might also be around 3 hours long, and now it seems that Matt Reeves’ upcoming movie The Batman might also join the club of longer-than-expected superhero movies.

According to technical specs on the IMDb page, The Batman is currently listed to be 2 hours and 55 minutes long. Of course, we have no idea how and where did they get that information, so we’re taking this with a grain of salt, but if it’s true, then it looks like we might get one of the longest Batman movies ever (if we exclude the Ultimate Edition of Batman V Superman, which was also longer than 3 hours).
