Ethan Hawke is facing attention after speaking out about President Donald Trump. The ‘Dead Poets Society’ actor joined the hosts on ‘The View’ on Wednesday, October 22, and criticized Trump’s honesty and actions regarding money.

During the show, the conversation turned to reports that Trump asked the Department of Justice for $230 million.

Hawke stated, “Is anybody here old enough to remember when Jimmy Carter gave up his family farm to make sure he didn’t have conflict of interest? It’s called integrity and it’s starting to show the lack of it.

Behar seemed shocked and asked, “Starting?” Hawke laughed and replied, “Yeah, I’m being nice.”

The hosts discussed how Trump is demanding taxpayer money from the DOJ to cover investigations into possible Russian collusion during the 2016 election and the classified documents found at his Mar-a-Lago estate.

They also compared his actions to Jimmy Carter, who put his family farm into a blind trust while he was president. Carter kept ownership but transferred management to someone else. That farm is now part of the Jimmy Carter National Historic Park.
