Adeline Rudolph Revealed as Kitana in ‘Mortal Kombat 2’ with Stunning New Look
A new look at Adeline Rudolph as Kitana in Mortal Kombat II has been released, giving fans their new glimpse of the iconic character in the upcoming sequel. The movie continues the story from 2021’s Mortal Kombat film and is set to hit theaters on May 15, 2026, courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures.

The sequel is directed by Simon McQuoid and written by Jeremy Slater. Many actors from the first film are returning, including Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, Lewis Tan, Damon Herriman (in a new role), Chin Han, Tadanobu Asano, Joe Taslim, and Hiroyuki Sanada.
Joining them are Karl Urban, Adeline Rudolph as Kitana, and Tati Gabrielle, adding fresh faces to the roster.
After the 2021 film’s release, producer Todd Garner, writer Greg Russo, and McQuoid explored new directions for the franchise.
Discussions included spin-offs focusing on popular characters like Johnny Cage and Sub-Zero, as well as a full sequel. Warner Bros. officially approved Mortal Kombat II in 2022, with Slater and McQuoid returning to continue the story.
Filming began in Australia in June 2023 but was briefly halted in July due to the SAG-AFTRA strike. Production resumed in November and wrapped up in January 2024. The story will follow the champions of Earthrealm, including Johnny Cage, as they fight to resist Shao Kahn, whose rise threatens the survival of their world.
With a mix of returning stars and new additions, Mortal Kombat II promises to expand the franchise while staying true to the intense action and martial arts fantasy that made the original film a hit.
