The latest addition to the evolving DC Universe has finally been revealed, with Adria Arjona successfully navigating a competitive casting process for the upcoming Man of Tomorrow. Reports indicate that the 33-year-old actress emerged as the top choice after several rounds of screen tests in Atlanta, surpassing other finalists including Sydney Chandler and Eva De Dominici.

While the studio has yet to officially name her character, industry insiders strongly suggest she will portray the formidable alien monarch Maxima. If these rumors hold true, the Hit Man star will bring to life a character known in the comics for her royal lineage on the planet Almerac and her complicated obsession with the Man of Steel.

Maxima is often depicted as a powerhouse who views Superman as her only genetic equal, a motivation that has historically positioned her as both a dangerous adversary and a reluctant ally. Her inclusion points toward a more cosmic scope for the film, adding a layer of intergalactic politics to the hero’s journey.

Production for the high-stakes project is scheduled to begin within the next week, keeping the film on track for its July 9, 2027, theatrical debut. Under the direction of James Gunn, the story will feature an unexpected partnership between David Corenswet’s Superman and Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor.

The two rivals are expected to join forces to combat the threat of Brainiac, played by Lars Eidinger, in a narrative that continues to expand the foundations of the new DC cinematic slate. Arjona’s move into the superhero genre follows a remarkably successful period in her career, including her standout performance in the Star Wars series Andor and the acclaimed action-comedy Hit Man.

She has remained a prominent figure in Hollywood headlines, notably for her relationship with fellow DC actor Jason Momoa, who is set to portray Lobo in the same universe. She is also currently preparing for a lead role opposite Michael B. Jordan in the upcoming reimagining of The Thomas Crown Affair, which is expected to begin filming later this year.
