Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. may be returning to the main Marvel Cinematic Universe in a new Disney+ series.

According to Alex Perez during a recent AMA, the show is expected to have a connection to VISION QUEST, a miniseries focused on the character Vision.

VISION QUEST is a spin-off of the 2021 series WandaVision and will be the 18th television project in the MCU produced by Marvel Studios.

The series is being created by Terry Matalas, who will also serve as showrunner and director. It will continue the story of Vision, a character originally introduced in the MCU films.

Paul Bettany will reprise his role as Vision. Other confirmed cast members include James Spader, Todd Stashwick, Ruaridh Mollica, T’Nia Miller, Emily Hampshire, and Orla Brady. The project was first announced in 2022, with Jac Schaeffer initially attached as head writer, but by 2024, Matalas had taken over redevelopment and Bettany was confirmed to return.

Filming began in March at Pinewood Studios in London and continued through late July. Multiple directors worked on episodes, including Christopher J. Byrne, Gandja Monteiro, Vincenzo Natali, and Matalas. Several other AI characters are also expected to appear, some of which have been seen in previous MCU projects.

VISION QUEST is scheduled to debut on Disney+ in 2026. The series will consist of eight episodes and will be part of Phase Six of the MCU.

Bringing Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. back into the MCU is a big deal for fans who have followed the show since it first aired. It’s exciting to see Marvel connecting its TV shows more closely to the films. Will this make the MCU feel more complete? Share your thoughts in the comments.
