Actor Alan Ritchson has shared a new video on Instagram that shows him taking part in a very unusual drink challenge involving pickle juice and mustard. The clip quickly got attention because of his reaction and the strange mix he was asked to finish.

In the video, Ritchson is seen questioning what he is about to drink and why the amount is so large. He makes it clear from the start that he is not impressed with what has been placed in front of him. One of the people off-camera tells him it is supposed to help with muscle recovery.

Ritchson pushes back on that idea and jokes that he does not believe the explanation. He even asks where the claim came from, saying it does not sound like proper science and asking for proof behind it.

He also points out how much liquid is in the container, showing it to the camera and suggesting it is closer to a full gallon rather than a small jar. Despite his complaints, the group around him encourages him to drink it anyway.

At the start of the clip, he says he is usually willing to try unpleasant things and mentions he has already done similar challenges before, including drinking egg whites. Still, he continues to question this one.

Once he finishes the drink, his reaction is immediate. He coughs and says it “burned” his throat. Even after struggling, he is told to finish what is left, but he refuses and says he cannot continue because his throat is already irritated.

The video ends with a caption from Ritchson reading, “It keeps getting worse.”

The post, shared on Instagram, comes shortly after reports that Ritchson was involved in a separate personal incident with a neighbor. That situation has not been fully detailed publicly.

Outside of social media, Ritchson continues his acting work. He is known for his role in the series Reacher and is also set to appear in the upcoming action thriller Runner, alongside Owen Wilson. The film is scheduled for release in September 2026.

The video adds another example of the actor taking part in extreme or unusual online challenges, even when they clearly do not go smoothly.
