All 4 ‘Darrow & Darrow’ Movies in Order
Movies about lawyers can be a bit mundane sometimes, but Darrow & Darrow is a series that lived up to expectations with each film. The series is a Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Original, meaning it’s fairly lighthearted, but the characters are quite interesting, revolving around relatable topics. And the mysteries are sometimes hard to predict.
That being said, if you liked the first Darrow & Darrow film, you’d probably like the rest and the other way around. I’ve got you covered if you want to give them a shot but don’t know where to start. All four Darrow & Darrow movies are in order, along with everything else you might want to know about the series.
How many Darrow & Darrow movies are there?
Right now, there are four Darrow & Darrow movies in total produced by Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. The first came out in 2017, and the last in 2019. The tetralogy is now viewed as a TV mini-series, although each ‘episode’ is actually a movie in its own right.
Darrow & Darrow movies in order (at a glance)
All four Darrow & Darrow movies are quite similar in their nature and quality. They are as follows:
- ‘Darrow & Darrow’ (2017)
- ‘Darrow & Darrow: In the Key of Murder‘ (2018)
- ‘Darrow & Darrow: Body of Evidence‘ (2018)
- ‘Witness to Murder: A Darrow Mystery‘ (2019)
Also, all four Darrow & Darrow movies were written by Phoef Sutton, whereas three different directors took part in the series. Peter DeLuise directed the first film, followed by two movies by Mel Damski, and then the final one was directed by Michael Robison.
Are Darrow & Darrow movies connected? Do you need to watch them in a specific order?
All Darrow & Darrow movies are connected and follow a chronological plot about a mother and daughter who are both lawyers and a district attorney who works closely with Claire Darrow – the daughter’s lawyer.
You can watch every movie separately to understand the narrative of each film, but you likely won’t get the connections and relationships between recurring characters if you don’t watch the series in a specific order, as it was meant.
What is the best way to watch Darrow & Darrow movies?
Undoubtedly, the best way to watch Darrow & Darrow movies is by their release date. The series was designed as such, and although every movie has its own case and mystery, the characters are recurring, and the relationships between them develop over time. To understand the series the best, you should follow it as it was released.
Darrow & Darrow movies in order (by release date)
1. ‘Darrow & Darrow’ (2017)
Claire Darrow (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) is a brilliant lawyer but might just be too kind for her trade. She’ll always try to do right and get justice, even if it comes out of her pocket instead of into it. Her mother, Joanna Darrow (Wendie Malick), is also a lawyer but has a completely different approach to the job.
After Joanna proves she was wrongfully fired from her previous job, she decides to join Claire’s law firm. However, their differences cause them to disagree on basically every aspect of their job – and even life, as they can’t even get to agree on how to raise Lou (Lilah Fitzgerald), Claire’s daughter.
Meanwhile, a jewelry store is robbed, and one of Claire’s best friends is accused of the crime, so she does everything she can to get him exonerated. Meanwhile, the DA Miles Strasberg (Tom Cavanagh) might have different plans…
2. ‘Darrow & Darrow: In the Key of Murder’ (2018)
After the first case was over, and Claire successfully defended her friend, realizing an insurance scam was to blame, she and DA Miles hit it off, so they went out on a date. Miles took her to a club where his little sister was the singer.
The next day, however, Miles finds out that his sister was arrested, accused of killing the music producer that she had just fired previously. Absolutely sure of her innocence, Clair Darrow takes the job and promises Miles to get to the bottom of it despite not ever working on a murder case before. With the help of Miles himself – and her experienced mother – the truth has to come out.
3. ‘Darrow & Darrow: Body of Evidence’ (2018)
Joanna Darrow is still situated with her daughter and granddaughter, working at the Darrow & Darrow law firm. However, she is still trying to get to the bottom of what had happened in her previous job and who had wrongfully set her up for insider trading charges. However, her budding relationship between her and Lou’s baseball coach might steer her away from the revenge plans.
Meanwhile, DA Miles and Claire are, well, in a relationship, although Claire is too afraid to admit that. They are approached by an old friend – a police officer who believes that a woman was wrongfully convicted in one of his cases a year ago for the murder of her own husband.
The evidence, however, is circumstantial, and nobody was ever recovered. Digging deeper into the case, they realize the husband – the supposed victim – had millions of dollars in debt, including a $3 million embezzlement investigation on his firm. Did he actually fake his own debt?
Claire seems to think so while Miles still holds that prosecutorial mindset, but the truth might be revealed due to a vintage baseball bat that’s worth tens of thousands of dollars…
4. ‘Witness to Murder: A Darrow Mystery’ (2019)
The final Darrow & Darrow movie to date, Witness to Murder, is a mystery that wrapped everything we learned from the series in a tight, sweet bow. Joanna is finally happy working minor cases at the Darrow & Darrow law firm and reconnecting with her daughter and granddaughter.
However, she is soon reached out to by Cassie – her former protege at the big New York firm Herriman, Corrigan, and Herriman, where Joanna worked before but was then wrongfully accused of insider trading.
Cassie was the one leading the case against Joanna, but now, the same thing is happening to her. She wanted to blow the whistle on malfeasances in the firm, in turn getting handed an insider trading lawsuit. Joanna decides to help Cassie, as it could also help her own case.
However, when Cassie is accused of setting up a drive-by that saw her chauffeur killed, Claire takes her criminal case while Joanna deals with her corporate case. Complicating manners ever further – the person prosecuting on the other side is, yet again, DA Miles, who asked Claire to ‘pause’ their personal relationship during the trial.
She suspects that he actually wants the ‘pause’ because of a reignited relationship with Lt. Sarah Lang, his former partner, who is now the lead investigator in Cassie’s murder case.

Darrow & Darrow is a Hallmark Movies & Mysteries original, so if you have access to Hallmark, you’ll probably be able to find them there. It’s also available for streaming on Hallmark Movies Now, a part of Amazon Prime Video, as well as on DIRECTV.
If you don’t have access to any of these, you can buy or rent all of the Darrow & Darrow movies on Amazon, AppleTV, Google Play, YouTube, Vudu, and Roku TV.
Will there be more Darrow & Darrow movies?
At the moment, there are no more Darrow & Darrow movies announced to even be in development, let alone production. Seeing that all four movies came out in a span of two years – and the last movie came out four years ago – I highly doubt that there will be any more Darrow & Darrow movies in the future.
Never say never, however, as there’s always a new story to be told. It was never officially stated by Hallmark that they’re done with Darrow & Darrow, so maybe we’ll get another movie in the future. The answer is it most likely won’t happen, but if it does, we’ll make sure to update you on all the news.
