Jane Doe is the name of a series of nine TV movies that were aired from 2005 to 2008. They were released by the Hallmark Channel with Lea Thompson as Cathy Davis, a soccer mom who works undercover as Jane Doe, an agent for the federal “Central Security Agency”. Even though her life is pretty hectic in general, with her family being the center of her attention, the movies show the ways she is dealing with juggling her everyday tasks and her professional life which includes solving mysteries. CSA vet Cathy Davis retired from her job in order to be a housewife and take care of her husband and kind. But when Frank Darnell, the director of the Central Security Agency (CSA) loses one of his best men, Cathy is the one asked to come back and help solve the mystery behind his disappearance. They find out that the whole disappearance was staged but now they have to find out who did it and why. In the meantime, Cathay’s children are having their own crises at school.
2. Jane Doe: Now You See It, Now You Don’t (2005)
Cathy Davis has a new mystery to solve when CSA learns that the Declaration of Independence is stolen while on display in a Los Angeles bank. Being an excellent puzzle solver, Cathay Davis, aka Jane Doe is once again asked to help and investigate this interesting case.
3. Jane Doe: Til Death Do Us Part (2005)
Cathy Davis has a new case to solve but at the same time has to deal with the fact that her husband discovered she has been keeping secrets from him and her kids are having trouble with a school talent contest. Cathy has to solve what is going on behind the disappearance of the corpse belonging to the mob patriarch Louis Angelini.
4. Jane Doe: The Wrong Face (2005)
Jane Doe has a pretty intense case in front of her. She is given three days to solve the mysterious kidnapping of the prosecutor’s wife. Three days before an important case in court, she is kidnapped after having her plastic surgery done and now Jane has to help find her.
5. Jane Doe: Yes, I Remember It Well (2006)
There is another kidnapping case in front of Jane Doe. It seems that Iain Smythe, the British intelligence mnemonic champion has been kidnapped from an elevator before managing to help CSA with a Middle east crisis. Even though Jane has to deal with her mother coming to visit, it seems that the British agent on the case is an old friend of hers so she decides to help them.
6. Jane Doe: The Harder They Fall (2006)
When Californian food mogul Melville Horning dies from alleged drowning during his yacht cruise, the prime suspect, his security chief Jim Monroe asks his former CSA colleagues to investigate the case. Jane Doe and her chief have to go through numerous motives behind the case. In the meantime, Jane’s son Nick gets into trouble while helping his spoiled sister Susan cover up her college fund speculation.
7. Jane Doe: Ties That Bind (2007)
The CSA has to deal with a new case, taken over from the police. A major defense contractor’s CFO is murdered and the only one who might be the suspect has a pretty trustworthy alibi. And when the key witness gets murdered, Jane Doe starts to believe that his twin brother might be in a way connected to the first murder.
8. Jane Doe: How To Fire Your Boss (2007)
Jane Doe has a new interesting case to deal with when two CSA agents assassinate their mentors. They can’t recall any events connected to their whereabouts at the time of the murders so Jane realizes that everything has to be connected to a secret government experiment in mind control. Jane has to be very fast and discover who is behind it all before the next agent gets killed.
9. Jane Doe: Eye of the Beholder (2008)
In her final case, Jane and her partner Frank meet and partner up with a beautiful insurance investigator who deals with the recovery of stolen art. Frank seems to be completely smitten by the beauty of his colleague but Jane can see that there might be something more behind her sweet and charming looks, something not so nice and attractive.
