Welcome to the Ending Explained for Alpha Males, the latest Spanish comedy coming from Netflix. The series tells the story of four friends who are basically lost in 21st-century society because everything about them screams chauvinism, which is definitely not something that is accepted at all in modern society. The series tackles the issue with humor and develops each character by taking them through their own stories. The result is a show that can be watched in one sitting and that has some very funny moments.

However, the issue the series tackles are so complex, and the way it approaches it, is so shallow, that it might be doing more hurt than good when it comes to men dealing with this issue. The show mostly points out how the characters are wrong but give them no means to become better people, much less find an answer to the question of what men should be now in this ever-changing society. We don’t expect concrete answers to such a complex topic, but it feels like the show is just kicking a dead body instead of doing something more constructive.

What Happens To Luis and Pedro In Alpha Males?

The series is headlined by four main characters, each with its own story. First, let’s have a look at Luis. He is a local policeman who mostly serves as a traffic agent. He is married and has two kids. Luis seems to be a very calm person, but family life seems to place him in very stressful situations. At home, he is worried about his marriage. His wife seems to want more sex than they have at the moment, and it seems the union between them is quickly being destroyed. They go to therapy, and they try to fix their sexual life to save their marriage.

However, when Luis’ wife becomes a member of a gym, she falls in love with her personal trainer, and she cheats on Luis. The truth comes out, and the couple decides to separate. They still see each other as if they need to share the kids’ custody, but things are definitely not good. However, the personal trainer returns with his girlfriend, and Luis’ wife is forced to go back to Luis, who has been taking better care of himself. In the end, the couple decides to have an open relationship but always comes back to each other as they realize they are the cornerstone of each other’s lives.

Another main character named Pedro finds himself in another very complicated situation. Pedro is definitely the character that the series uses to depict the toxic masculinity concept in its purest form. Pedro is a TV executive, and one day he gets fired from the network and replaced by a female executive. His boss tells him that it is just a decision made based on what the people are saying on social media, nothing personal. Pedro is in a pickle, he just bought an expensive new house, and his wife doesn’t really work.

Trying to find more income, Pedro’s wife starts becoming an influencer or concept creator. She gives tips about fitness, lifestyle, and more on social media. She has a knack for it and quickly she becomes very popular. Pedro, who has been looking for something to do, gets inspired by his wife’s popularity and starts making his own videos. However, the message of his videos is in favor of the man of old, the one that is considered toxic. He gets quite popular, but it clashes with and hurts his wife’s popularity. In the end, his wife leaves him because their interests don’t seem to align anymore.

What Happens To Raul And Santi In Alpha Males?

The two other main characters are also having a hard time with their own problems. For example, Santi, who seems the more innocent and beta male of the group, is divorced, and his wife seems to hate him with a passion. They share custody over their teenage daughter of sixteen, who has decided to live with Santi despite her mother’s disapproval. She also starts setting dates for Santi on Tinder, as she believes her father needs to have sex with more women to forget her mother completely.

Santi goes on several dates, and the situation becomes quite stressful. Santi is not able to handle the stress of dating again, but he follows his daughter’s lead and starts dating and having sex with many women. He meets one who wants something serious with him, but he doesn’t think there is enough chemistry for that. He breaks up with her, and she becomes a maniac. In the end, Santi receives a call from her ex-wife, and he goes to help her. The expected happens, and they end up having sex and, apparently, have reignited their relationship. Santi’s daughter disapproves of everything.

Last but not least is Raul. He is the owner of a restaurant, and he is in a steady relationship with a lawyer named Luz. However, Raul has been having sex with a woman named Carmen on the side for almost two years. Carmen is also the girlfriend of his partner at the restaurant. It is pretty messy. Luz proposes an open relationship to maintain the spice in the relationship, but Raul doesn’t want to share her with anyone, especially because he was planning to ask for her hand in marriage.

Luz also receives a job promotion in Amsterdam, and she convinces Raul to go along with her. He accepts but is afraid of not seeing his friends again. In the end, Luz informs Raul that they are not going, and everything seems great. However, Raul receives a call from Carmen; they have sex, but this time Carmen uses her phone to make a video call, revealing the event to his partner in the restaurant. Luz finds out and decides to leave Raul, who goes to stay with Pedro in his big house, now that Pedro is also alone, having been abandoned by his wife.
