Amanda Seyfried is making a compelling case for one of fashion’s most debated trends: capri pants. During a recent promotional outing in Paris, the Mean Girls star paired a cropped jacket with a miniskirt and a pair of capri leggings. This layered approach proved that with the right styling, even polarizing pieces can look polished.

At the Paris premiere of her latest film, The Testament of Ann Lee, Seyfried donned a head-to-toe Chloé ensemble. She wore a structured, double-breasted jacket crafted from checked wool fabric. The jacket featured sharp shoulders, a boxy cut, and a cropped hemline that added a modern edge to the traditional suiting material.

Seyfried paired the jacket with a black micro miniskirt to create a sleek, minimalist base. The real twist came below the hemline, where she swapped traditional sheer tights for black capri leggings in a stretch knit. These leggings added a hint of early-2000s nostalgia while maintaining a sophisticated, monochromatic palette.

Styled by Elizabeth Stewart, the 40-year-old actress completed the look with Chloé Alba perforated leather slingback pumps. The lambskin pumps featured pointed toes adorned with silver-tone studs, adding a touch of toughness to the outfit. She kept her accessories minimal so that the focus remained on the unique layering of the jacket and capri leggings.

Seyfried’s beauty look was equally refined, with her blonde hair worn in loose waves with a middle part. Her makeup featured defined brows and a nude lip, allowing her natural features to shine.

Outside of her fashion-forward premiere appearances, Seyfried has been exceptionally busy with a diverse range of projects. She recently garnered significant critical acclaim and award nominations for her role in The Testament of Ann Lee, where she plays the visionary Shaker leader Ann Lee.

In addition to this historical drama, she recently starred in the box-office hit The Housemaid alongside Sydney Sweeney, a thriller that she has described as a perfect blend of commercial appeal and artistic depth.

Looking ahead, fans can see Seyfried on the small screen in the Peacock crime drama miniseries Long Bright River, which premiered in early 2025 and continues to find new audiences on streaming.

She plays a Philadelphia police officer searching for a killer in a neighborhood struggling with the opioid crisis. There are also ongoing discussions about a potential sequel to The Housemaid following its financial success, as Seyfried has expressed a desire to continue jumping between indie projects and major studio thrillers.

Seyfried has been vocal in recent interviews about the challenges of balancing her thriving career with motherhood. She shares two children, Nina and Thomas, with her husband, actor Thomas Sadoski, and often notes that her choice of roles is now heavily influenced by what is worth leaving her kids for. Despite the demands of her schedule.
