Amanda Seyfried made a striking entrance at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival on Thursday, February 19, for the premiere of her latest project, The Testament of Ann Lee. The 40-year-old actress opted for a glamorous, bejewelled nude gown featuring intricate detailing and a sheer mesh skirt that captured the attention of the red carpet.

She kept her accessories elegant and minimal with a silver necklace, letting the dress serve as the focal point while her blonde hair was styled in soft, cascading curls. She was accompanied at the event by her co-star Viola Prettejohn, known for her role in The Crown, who chose a contrasting black ensemble.

Prettejohn wore a sleek bralette paired with a high-waisted skirt that featured a bold thigh-high split, finishing the look with towering black platform heels. The two stars were seen sharing smiles and posing with the film’s director, Mona Fastvold, and composer Daniel Blumberg, who rounded out the group in a sharp black suit and navy baseball cap.

The premiere comes at a time when Seyfried is once again at the center of awards season buzz, despite her recent candid remarks about the value of such accolades. Following a Best Supporting Actress nomination for Mank in 2021 and recent nods for her current film, the actress told The New Yorker that she believes the nomination itself is what truly thrusts you forward.

She questioned whether audiences even recall the winners from the last decade, emphasizing that while a win would be great, it certainly isn’t a requirement for her to feel successful. Seyfried’s recent public appearances have also been scrutinized following her reactions at the Golden Globes, where fans noticed her looking visibly unimpressed after losing to Rose Byrne.

A clip of the actress grimacing before regaining her composure went viral, leading supporters to suggest she simply knew the outcome ahead of time. Beyond the awards circuit, Seyfried has faced a more serious wave of criticism from the public due to her outspoken political commentary on social media.

The actress sparked a significant backlash in late 2025 after she described conservative influencer Charlie Kirk as hateful shortly after he was killed in a shooting during a debate in Utah.

While she later clarified her stance by stating that the violence was disturbing and deplorable, she refused to apologize for her original assessment of his rhetoric. Speaking to Who What Wear, she stood by her comments, insisting that she was simply stating facts and wouldn’t backtrack under pressure, even as some Americans called for a boycott of her work.

Despite the surrounding noise, Seyfried continues to build an impressive filmography, having recently starred alongside Sydney Sweeney in the psychological thriller The Housemaid.

The film was a massive commercial success, earning $133 million at the global box office and already spawning a confirmed sequel titled The Housemaid’s Secrets. Seyfried has expressed her joy in jumping between different genres, noting that her choices are now more deliberate and artistic than ever before.

In addition to the Housemaid sequel, which is expected to begin filming later this year, Seyfried has been linked to a variety of high-profile projects for this year and 2027. She is currently starring in the Peacock crime drama Long Bright River, where she plays a Philadelphia police officer, and rumors have circulated regarding a potential role in a live-action Disney adaptation.

Between her advocacy for women’s health and her busy production schedule, the actress remains a consistent and powerful presence in the industry, even as she navigates the complexities of fame and public opinion.
