Amanda Seyfried Floats Into the Golden Globes in an Angelic, Bare-Shoulder Gown
Amanda Seyfried lit up the 2026 Golden Globes in a stunning strapless ivory gown by Versace, paired with sparkling Tiffany & Co. diamonds.
The actress arrived looking elegant and angelic, a sharp contrast to last week’s Critics Choice Awards, where she wore a dramatic black and pink Valentino gown. Seyfried is having a big awards season, nominated tonight for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for The Testament of Ann Lee and Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or a Motion Picture Made for Television for Long Bright River.

Earlier this week, W Magazine ran an interview with Seyfried about playing Ann Lee, the founder of the Shaker Movement, in the historical musical film. She explained her approach to the role, saying, “My character was just trying to make her life mean something, and create a space where people’s lives meant the same thing. There are no hierarchies: any race, ethnicity, gender—it didn’t matter. We were all walking on the same planet together, and that was so beautiful.”

Seyfried admitted she felt intimidated at first by the idea of playing someone seen as a messiah. “I was very intimidated by the idea of playing someone who had that much control and power over people,” she said. She added that once she began preparing for the role, she found plenty of similarities between herself and the character. “She led with compassion, and I dream about a society where we can be more socialist,” Seyfried said.
She also reflected on the Shaker beliefs and how they shaped the story. “I also like to think that we can’t survive without each other, and that’s the same kind of belief system that Ann Lee had, even though she was doing everything through her devotion to God. The Shaker movement had around 6,000 followers in America, but she didn’t really have a long game because she—and the religion she preached—believed in celibacy. If you don’t reproduce more disciples, then the religion will die off,” she explained.
Seyfried’s Golden Globes look was classic yet modern, the strapless design showing off her shoulders and giving her a graceful, ethereal vibe. The ivory color made her glow under the lights, and the jewelry added just the right amount of sparkle. Fashion critics have praised her for balancing elegance and red carpet drama, and her look immediately became a favorite of the evening.
Outside of the Golden Globes, Seyfried has had a busy few years in film. The Testament of Ann Lee is one of her standout performances, and she has been preparing for the awards season buzz surrounding it. She also earned praise for her work on Long Bright River, a limited series that shows her dramatic range. Seyfried has proven time and again that she can handle both musical and serious dramatic roles with equal skill.
Amanda Seyfried has a long career in both film and television. She first gained fame for roles in Mean Girls and Mamma Mia!, and she has since taken on a mix of blockbuster films and indie projects. She has received multiple award nominations, including for her work in musicals and dramatic roles. Seyfried continues to balance commercial and artistic projects, making her one of the most versatile actresses in Hollywood today.
