Amanda Seyfried is welcoming 2026 with a major moment in fashion and film. The actress is featured on the January 2026 digital cover of Vogue, marking her first appearance on the magazine’s American cover in more than ten years.

The feature was published by Vogue and highlights both her style and her growing career as a dramatic actress.

The cover shoot was photographed by Eddie Wrey and took place at a quiet countryside location in upstate New York. Seyfried poses outdoors wearing a bold red Valentino dress from the brand’s Spring 2026 collection, designed by Alessandro Michele. The look was styled by Jorden Bickham and reflects a dramatic shift in tone that matches where Seyfried is now in her career.

Over the past few years, Seyfried has moved far from the light and playful roles that first made her famous. While many still remember her from Mean Girls and Mamma Mia!, her recent work shows a clear focus on darker and more demanding characters. In 2021, she earned an Oscar nomination for her role in Mank. One year later, she won an Emmy for playing Elizabeth Holmes in Hulu’s The Dropout.

In 2024, she starred in Long Bright River, a Peacock series where she played a police officer dealing with addiction and loss in Philadelphia. The role added to her reputation as an actress willing to take risks and tackle serious topics.

Her most recent film is The Housemaid, directed by Paul Feig and based on the novel by Freida McFadden. Seyfried plays Nina, a wealthy woman with an unstable personality who hires a young maid, played by Sydney Sweeney.

Feig praised her performance, saying, “Amanda turns a note that could be marginal into something that changes her whole performance. If you push Nina too far, she becomes a cartoon. In any lesser actor’s hands, she could be a sketch—but Amanda turns her into a three-dimensional character.”

Seyfried spoke openly about how much she enjoyed the role. “I actually felt bad for Sydney and Brandon,” she said, referring to her co-stars Sydney Sweeney and Brandon Sklenar.

“Because I get to play, and they can’t. They couldn’t play. Well, Sydney feasts a little bit at the end. But I feast the whole time.” She described the project as “like capturing lightning in a bottle,” and praised Feig by saying “he, like Mona, appreciates and honors the absurdity of humanity.” According to Vogue, a sequel to the film is already in the works and is expected to begin filming later this year.
