Amandla Stenberg Will Star In The Main Role In ‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’

Deadline confirmed – Amandla Stenberg is set to join the Star Wars saga in the upcoming Disney+ series The Acolyte.

Amandla Stenberg, a 23-year-old actress started her career in the 2011 movie Colombiana, in which she starred as young Cataleya – Zoe Saldana’s titular character. A year later, she starred in The Hunger Games as Rue. She’s also known for the roles of Maddy Whittier and Ruby Daly in Everything, Everything and The Darkest Minds, respectively.

Star Wars: The Acolyte was officially announced in 2020. Leslye Headland was announced as the creator, head writer, and executive producer. Headland is best known for the 2019 TV series Russian Doll, for which she received two Emmy Award nominations. You can check the official description for the upcoming Star Wars series below:

Star Wars: The Acolyte is only one of the several upcoming Star Wars projects that are in development for Disney+. The newest project is The Book of Boba Fett, which is set to premiere its first season on December 29, 2021. Also, the fans are expecting the third season of The Mandalorian, as well as the Obi-Wan Kenobi series starring Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, the Andor series starring Diego Luna, the Ahsoka series starring Rosario Dawson, etc.
