Amazon Wants To Make A ‘Mass Effect’ TV Show

Amazon, known for making popular TV shows The Boys and upcoming Lord of the Rings is closing in to make a deal about making a TV show based on the popular RPG video game franchise Mass Effect, as reported by Deadline.

Deadline’s report is saying that Amazon is getting ready to work on multiple projects that will adapt famous franchises, and Mass Effect is one of them. But be aware, the report is saying that a deal with EA isn’t fully done yet, but it’s going well, so far. Considering that Amazon and EA haven’t closed the deal yet, it’s unknown what the story might be, let alone who is going to work on the show.

For those who do not know, Mass Effect is a science-fiction role-playing video game franchise that is following the alternate universe where humans and alien civilizations have colonized the Milky Way in the 22nd century. The franchise kicked off in 2007 with the original video game of the same name developed by BioWare. The game was initially made as Xbox exclusive, but due to its popularity, it was ported for PlayStation and PC.

Two sequels followed in 2010 and 2012 and that concluded the original trilogy. The fourth installment – Mass Effect: Andromeda – was released in 2017, and the fifth game is in development. The franchise also spawned novels and comic books, as well as the movie Mass Effect: Paragon Lost, which was released in 2012, and it serves as the prequel to Mass Effect 3.
