Anna Kendrick Caught in the Crossfire: No Feud with Blake Lively, But Frustrated by Online Drama
Despite ongoing online speculation, there is no bad blood between Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively, according to multiple sources. While Lively is facing legal troubles surrounding her upcoming movie ‘It Ends With Us,’ Kendrick has found herself unintentionally drawn into the conversation.
The two actresses are set to reunite on screen for ‘Another Simple Favor,’ the sequel to their 2018 thriller.
When Kendrick and Lively shared the film’s first poster on Instagram on February 4, the comment section quickly became filled with debates about Lively’s legal situation. Many users referenced her dispute with ‘It Ends With Us’ director and costar Justin Baldoni, whom she has accused of sexual harassment and retaliation—allegations that Baldoni denies.
Other comments focused on the film poster itself, questioning why Lively’s name was listed before Kendrick’s. While the two play equally important roles in the movie, some fans saw the placement as unfair.
A source close to Kendrick, 39, told PEOPLE, “She’s not used to being caught up in any drama.” The source added that the negativity online has been upsetting for her, particularly comments from fans who claim they won’t watch the film because of Lively’s involvement.
Although social media has reignited speculation about behind-the-scenes tension between Kendrick and Lively, insiders insist there is no conflict.
“There really is no drama or rift,” one source confirmed to PEOPLE.
Another insider reinforced this, stating, “There is no feud. The film is in the early stages of planning what press will look like, and Blake and Anna will be doing some things together.”
Despite the online discussions, neither Lively nor Kendrick has publicly addressed the speculation.
