It’s not clear how big Maguire’s role will be. Some reports suggest it could be a brief cameo, while others speculate that he could have a more significant part. Given how popular his Spider-Man is among fans, especially outside of the current MCU, it wouldn’t be surprising if the filmmakers gave him substantial screen time in the crossover film.
Fans are also left wondering whether Tom Holland or Andrew Garfield will appear alongside Maguire. Holland is currently filming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which could affect his availability, while Garfield’s involvement has not been mentioned in recent reports.
Avengers: Doomsday is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, with a script by Michael Waldron and Stephen McFeely.
The movie brings together a massive cast, including Chris Hemsworth, Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Letitia Wright, Paul Rudd, and Robert Downey Jr., among many others. In the film, the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, New Avengers, and the original X-Men team unite to face Doctor Doom, played by Downey.
Filming took place from April to September at Pinewood Studios in England, with additional shoots in England and Bahrain. The movie is part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026. Its sequel, Secret Wars, is planned for December 17, 2027.
