Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Trailer Breakdown
Scott Lang’s life is back to normal… or is it?
The trailer opens the way Marvel fans are already used to. We haven’t seen Scott Lang ever since he helped the Avengers to save the universe against Thanos and his forces. Now, he’s living a life every superhero wants to live; he has a great girlfriend and a beloved daughter.
His criminal past is long behind him, and even Baskin Robbins named him an Employee of the Century (Oh, congrats Scott). But you know how it is, just when you think things couldn’t be any better, here’s a new problem that our heroes will need to solve.
Cassie Lang is sending a signal to Quantum Realm, which is never a good idea
The trailer gave us the first official look at Kathryn Newton as the new Cassie Lang. We met Cassie in the first Ant-Man movie, in which she was played by Abby Ryder Fortson, who also reprised the role in the sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp. After 5-year time jump in Avengers: Endgame, Emma Fuhrmann played Cassie before she was replaced by Newton.
From what we can see in the trailer, Cassie will also be some sort of young scientist who will open the way to the Quantum Realm. Parents, don’t let your kids play with Quantum technology, it never ends well. Even though Janet tried to warn her, the accident will occur and the whole family will now be sucked into the Quantum Realm.
There’s a secret universe beneath ours
But not just to the Quantum Realm, but to the part of it we have never explored before. As always, Marvel doesn’t hesitate to show us the beautiful visuals that we can expect to see in the movie.
As the trailer is showing, Quantum Realm is like a whole universe that also has its inhabitants. Are those inhabitants friendly? We will find out once the movie hits theaters.
Hello, Bill Murray
The trailer gave a quick glimpse at two all-new characters that we’re going to meet in this movie. The first one is an unknown character played by Bill Murray, whose involvement in the movie was rumored during the movie’s production.
The trailer gave only a split-second of him, so we can’t know what will be his actual role in the movie, but we can’t wait to find that out. It’s certainly great to have such a legend in a Marvel movie.
First Look at Kang!
Well, what’s a Marvel movie without its villain? After we met Jonathan Majors as He Who Remains in the Loki series, Majors will now return as an evil variant known as Kang the Conqueror, who is one of the most known and most-powerful villains from pages of the Marvel comic books.
Kang’s role in the MCU will not be a one-time thing, as it was already announced that he will be the main villain of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, and previous announcements also revealed that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will be the first step into building the stage for the next Avengers movie which we are all widely anticipating.
The family is ready for action
Of course, it’s obvious that we’ll see Ant-Man and the Wasp in action again for the first time since Avengers: Endgame, but they will have a backup this time. Cassie is now set to become Stature, a superhero who wears a similar suit to the titular duo.
The trailer gave us a quick glimpse at this trinity who is ready to take action. The trailer showed us that we can expect a wild ride, but there are still so many questions to which we cannot wait to see the answers once the movie hits the big screen.
After directing the first two Ant-Man movies, Peyton Reed is back in the director’s chair. Jeff Loveness wrote the script. This will be the 31st movie set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the opening movie of the franchise’s Phase 5.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is set to be released on February 17, 2023.
