Anya Taylor-Joy is making a fashionable splash in Japan as she starts the international press tour for her latest cinematic venture. On Tuesday, March 24, the 29-year-old actress visited the Nintendo Museum in Kyoto to promote the upcoming animated sequel, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.

For the high-profile photo call, she opted for a vibrant and playful ensemble that seemed to take inspiration from the colorful, high-energy world of the Mario franchise. The Last Night in Soho star arrived in a chic pink cropped top that featured an unconventional and striking design element.

Long, bright red straps draped elegantly from both the front and back of the garment, creating a bold visual contrast. She paired the eye-catching top with relaxed denim pants and kept her signature blonde hair down, leaning into a look that was both sophisticated and effortless.

Taylor-Joy was joined at the event by a star-studded group of her castmates, including Chris Pratt, Jack Black, Charlie Day, and Keegan-Michael Key. The group posed for photos together, celebrating the imminent release of the highly anticipated follow-up to the 2023 blockbuster.

In the new film, Taylor-Joy reprises her voice role as Princess Peach, who this time heads into the cosmos alongside Mario and Luigi to face a new galactic threat. The timing of the Japan tour is particularly significant, as The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is officially scheduled to hit theaters worldwide on April 1.

This sequel introduces several new characters to the animated universe, including Yoshi, who makes his full speaking debut voiced by Donald Glover. Other new additions to the cast include Brie Larson as Princess Rosalina and Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr., while the film also features a surprise appearance by Fox McCloud.

Aside from her work in the Mushroom Kingdom, Taylor-Joy is currently entering one of the busiest and most diverse periods of her professional life. She is currently preparing for the summer premiere of her new Apple TV+ crime thriller series, Lucky, which is set to debut on July 15.

In the show, which she also executive-produced alongside Reese Witherspoon, she plays a professional con artist who must embrace her criminal past to escape a dangerous fate. Additionally, she is set to reprise her role as Alia Atreides in Dune: Part Three, further solidifying her presence in major sci-fi franchises.
