Apple TV+ has found its biggest hit yet. By the end of Sunday’s Emmy Awards, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s comedy series “The Studio” was the most awarded show of the year, walking away with 13 trophies in total.

The show had already picked up nine awards at the Creative Arts Emmys on September 6 and 7. On the main night, it added four more, including the top prize for outstanding comedy series.

Rogen himself won for lead comedy actor. The duo of Rogen and Goldberg also collected wins for comedy directing and comedy writing.

“The Studio” tells the story of a stressed-out Hollywood executive, played by Rogen, who tries to balance his corporate duties with his dream of making great movies.

The cast includes Catherine O’Hara, Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, and Kathryn Hahn. The series premiered on Apple TV+ in March 2025 and has already been renewed for a second season.

The show quickly became a critical favorite. Reviewers praised its sharp take on the entertainment industry, its stylish direction, and its long, uninterrupted shots. Fans also loved the parade of celebrity cameos that appeared in every episode.

At the Emmys, the list of wins stretched across both major and technical categories. Bryan Cranston picked up guest comedy actor for his appearance in the episode “CinemaCon.” Other wins came in casting, cinematography, costumes, music supervision, editing, production design, sound editing, and sound mixing.

Rogen’s win as best comedy actor was a highlight of the night. His co-star Ike Barinholtz was nominated for supporting actor, while Kathryn Hahn and Catherine O’Hara were nominated for supporting actress.

The record-breaking numbers make “The Studio” the most awarded comedy in a single season. The series had 23 nominations overall, the most ever for a comedy debut. It also recently won the Television Critics Association award for outstanding achievement in comedy.

The Academy’s results confirm that “The Studio” has done more than just win trophies. It has become a cultural hit, setting a new standard for comedy on streaming.
