Apple TV’s Most “Mid” Alien Sci-Fi Show Drops Season 3 Trailer
Invasion is a science fiction TV show created by Simon Kinberg and David Weil. It first came out on Apple TV+ on October 22, 2021.
The show is pretty unique because it’s told through the eyes of regular people from different parts of the world. You’ll hear English, Japanese, and Pashto spoken throughout the series, making it feel global. In Germany, the show goes by the name Infiltration.
The story is about aliens coming to Earth and threatening human life. The show focuses on how different people deal with the chaos and confusion as things get worse. Critics have mixed feelings about the series. Rotten Tomatoes gave the first season a 48% approval rating from 42 reviews, with an average score of 5.6 out of 10. They said, “Invasion attempts a slow burn but inadvertently lets its tension completely fizzle out with leaden pacing that will leave viewers impatient for the alien apocalypse to finally arrive.” Metacritic, another review site, gave it a 51 out of 100 based on 15 critic reviews, calling the feedback “mixed or average.”
The second season came out on August 23, 2023, and it got better reviews. Rotten Tomatoes reported a 64% approval rating from 11 reviews with an average rating of 6.1 out of 10. They commented, “A marked improvement if not a wholehearted vindication, Invasion’s second season explores the fallout of an alien takeover with impressive scope.” Metacritic gave the second season a 63 out of 100 based on 4 critics, saying the reviews were “generally favorable.”
The show was renewed for a third season on February 13, 2024. This new season is set to premiere on August 22, 2025. Fans will get to see more of the story and find out what happens next in this alien invasion saga.
