Arrowverse: David Ramsey Will Return As John Diggle in ‘Batwoman’ And Direct An Episode Of ‘Superman & Lois’

David Ramsey is certainly one of the biggest Arrowverse veterans. Ramsey played the role of John Diggle, Oliver Queen’s bodyguard and closest friend in all eight seasons of Arrow. After the show finished its airing in early 2020, fans thought that Ramsey will say goodbye to Arrowverse, but on the contrary, Ramsey reprised the role in one episode of most of the Arrowverse shows that were on after Arrow finished; Batwoman, Supergirl, Superman & Lois, Legends of Tomorrow, and The Flash. Ramsey also directed various episodes of all the mentioned shows, except The Flash.

Now, according to TVLine, Ramsey will reprise the role of John Diggle in one of the upcoming episodes of Batwoman. Although John Diggle never officially met any characters on the show, last season he met Camrus Johnson’s Luke Fox while he was in Gotham City. The report is saying that he will appear in the episode that’s set to air on January 19. You can check the episode’s official synopsis here:

“NATURAL DISASTERS – Ryan (Javicia Leslie), Sophie (Meagan Tandy) and Luke (Camrus Johnson) attempt to track down the OG Poison Ivy when all signs point to Pamela Isley’s (guest star Bridget Regan) reappearance in Gotham. At the same time, Mary (Nicole Kang) feels drawn by a powerful force and Alice (Rachel Skarsten) suddenly feels very protective of her stepsister. Meanwhile, Jada (Robin Givens) hasn’t given up on rehabilitating Marquis (Nick Creegan) and seeks the help of an old friend. Guest starring David Ramsey. Michael Blundell directed the episode written by Caroline Dries and Maya Houston (#309).”

Additionally, it was confirmed that Ramsey is the director of the second episode of the second season of Superman & Lois TV show. Check the episode’s synopsis:

“DAVID RAMSEY “ARROW” DIRECTS THE EPISODE – Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) opens up to Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) about his ongoing struggle with visions and admits that there is only one person who might be able to help. Meanwhile, Lana (Emmanuelle Chriqui) receives some unexpected news and tensions begin to rise between Lois and Chrissy (Sofia Hasmik). Lastly, Sarah (Inde Navarrette) breaks plans with Jordan (Alex Garfin) to spend time with Natalie (Taylor Buck). Jordan Elsass, Erik Valdez and Wole Parks star. The episode was directed by David Ramsey and written by Kristi Korzec & Michael Narducci (#202). Original airdate 1/18/2022.”

Superman & Lois Season 2 will premiere on January 11, 2022. Batwoman will continue its third season with an all-new episode on January 12, 2022.
