‘Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ Update 1.0.5 Brings New Quest, Event, and Parkour Features

Ubisoft is rolling out a big update for Assassin’s Creed Shadows on May 27. The new update, called Title Update 1.0.5, adds new quests, events, and fun features to the game. It will be available for download on all platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Steam, and Mac.
One of the most exciting new additions is a pre-order bonus quest called “Thrown to the Dogs.” In this quest, you help a loyal dog get justice for his master. Once completed, players can unlock Tsuki-maru, a dog that you can keep as a pet in your Hideout. The quest becomes available early in the game and can be found near Osaka.
Another big highlight is a special event crossover with Dead by Daylight. In this new mission, strange things start happening in the village of Harima. As Naoe, you’ll investigate and face a powerful and creepy threat. Once you finish the quest, you’ll earn a new trinket and banner. There’s also a themed outfit pack and even a special horse named Maurice available in the store for those who want to dive deeper into the event.
The update also includes a new item called “Winning Hand,” a trinket for Naoe and an amulet for Yasuke. These come with a special ability that adds a random status effect at the end of your attack combos. Ubisoft hasn’t said exactly how to get this item, you’ll have to discover that for yourself.
Players who enjoy parkour will be happy with some big improvements. A new vertical jump has been added, letting both main characters grab onto ledges and overhangs more easily. You no longer need to run up walls as often. Sprinting is smoother now too, and both characters have better side and back jumps, helping you stay up high and keep moving quickly.
The update also brings the biggest Photo Mode changes the series has seen. Now you can change the time of day, pose your character, turn headgear on or off, and even play music while you take photos. There are new frames, color options for stickers, and a better way to save and edit filters. PC players also get full-screen support.
While the update includes many bug fixes and performance improvements, the new quests, events, and gameplay features are the stars.
