Netflix has released a new psychological thriller miniseries, The Beast in Me, starring Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys. The series premiered on November 13, and has quickly caught the attention of audiences. Jodie Foster and Conan O’Brien are among the producers of the show.

The story follows Aggie Wiggs, an acclaimed author who has withdrawn from public life after the tragic loss of her young son.

Struggling to write and haunted by grief, Aggie becomes intrigued by her new neighbor, Nile Jarvis, a powerful real estate mogul with a dark past. Once suspected in his wife’s disappearance, Nile sparks both fear and fascination in Aggie. As she investigates him, she is forced to confront her own personal demons, leading to a tense cat-and-mouse game that may turn deadly.

The main cast includes: Claire Danes as Aggie Wiggs; Matthew Rhys as Nile Jarvis; Brittany Snow as Nina Jarvis and Natalie Morales as Shelley, Aggie’s ex-wife.

The series has already received strong reviews, holding an 84% average on Rotten Tomatoes. Fans on social media are praising the show for its intensity and performances.

One viewer wrote, “2 minutes in and I already know The Beast in Me is gonna win limited series at the Emmy’s next year.” Another said, “Just started on The Beast in Me and I’m already so riled up! It’s tense off the bat but I also find Americans in their shows so incredibly rageful, passive aggressive…”

Most agree that the actors deliver strong performances. Others have commented on Netflix’s binge model, predicting the show might be quickly forgotten despite its quality.
