‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Promo Art Declares “Doom Is Supreme” as Robert Downey Jr.’s Villain Takes Over the Marketing
The countdown to ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is entering its final stretch, and Marvel’s next big team-up is putting its villain front and center. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the film opens in theaters on December 18. Robert Downey Jr. leads the charge as Victor von Doom, in his return to the MCU after his run as Tony Stark ended with ‘Avengers: Endgame’.
Doom has been everywhere lately. Marvel has been running a countdown stream for the film on YouTube since January, and even Disney+’s ‘VisionQuest’ slipped a “Countdown to Doom” label into Ultron’s room in its second episode, a sly nod to the villain’s arrival.
Now a new piece of promo art is adding to the buzz. A striking “Doom is Supreme” visual for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is making the rounds online, showing Downey’s Doom in his iconic hooded mask against a deep green backdrop with the bold tagline splashed across the bottom.
The art leans heavily into Doom’s regal, imposing presence. His metal mask peers out from beneath a dark hood, while a towering structure rises behind the tagline, framed by sharp silver shapes on an emerald background.

The image is part of a wave of HD promo visuals shared on X by the account HEXFacility. Those images show Doom in a green-and-silver color scheme with his metal mask and hooded green cloak. Several pieces carry slogans like “Doom Has No Rivals,” “Doom Supreme,” and “Doctor Doom,” while one pairs “Doom Is Supreme” with official ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ branding.
Marvel hasn’t formally unveiled the campaign itself, so the visuals are best treated as circulating promotional material rather than an official reveal. Still, the consistent look across the images suggests a clear marketing direction centered entirely on the villain.
The “Doom Is Supreme” slogan has already shown up beyond promo art. It appears on Doctor Doom merchandise, including a BoxLunch-exclusive line and apparel sold at retailers like Target.

Some fans have pointed out how different that is from past ‘Avengers’ marketing. Previous team-ups built their rallying cries around the heroes, while this one belongs entirely to the antagonist.
Merchandise is also offering hints about Doom’s on-screen look. Officially licensed Funko figures label the character “Lord Doom” and show him in a green military-style uniform with gold detailing, without his heavy metallic armor but still wearing the mask.
Doom’s ego will have plenty of heroes to contend with. The film unites the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the Wakandans and the X-Men against a multiversal threat. The ensemble includes Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston and Florence Pugh.
Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach return as the Fantastic Four, while Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Kelsey Grammer and James Marsden bring the X-Men into the fold.

Stephen McFeely, Michael Waldron, Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers wrote the screenplay. The film reportedly runs 165 minutes, longer than ‘Infinity War’ but shorter than ‘Endgame’.
The heavy focus on Doom comes as Marvel works to win over fans who’ve questioned the villain’s place in the saga. Some viewers have felt the character’s introduction was forced after the studio’s shift away from Kang.
Putting Downey’s Doom at the center of every poster and slogan signals confidence in the character. By leaning into his arrogance and his love for Latveria, the campaign positions Doom as a ruler who considers himself above everyone else, not just another threat.

With about 2 months left before release, expect the Doom takeover to keep growing. If this promo art is any indication, Marvel wants audiences walking into theaters convinced that Doom really is supreme.
